Included with Dawntrail?

Does Dawntrail include any previous expansions like they used to in the past? I tried to look to find out because a friend is still missing 2 expansions and asked me..

so I figured I would throw this out there since a search on these forums didn't give me any information.

well i "believe" Dawntrail COMPLETE EDITION...is everything all prior expansions whole thing. Just Dawntrail is that...just dawntrail.

The latest expansion always includes all previous expansions. This is necessary because the current expansion's story relies upon the previous ones and will revisit areas from those expansions. The design to the game virtually necessitates that it includes all of them. It's also pretty standard. Any MMORPG that didn't include all expansions in one would discover that it's off-putting to people and, ironically, causes people to avoid getting the game, since it's effectively buying a bulk of games and not everyone wants to spend that much.

So yes, Dawntrail includes all previous expansions. However, this is only the case if they input the code into the mog station. The retailer will normally email this to you, but Steam will instead have it hidden where you need to look at the CD Keys for the game.

Also, Dawntrail cannot be registered if they have not bought the base game. It essentially works like this:

Starter Edition = removes free trial restrictions, pays your first subscription fee, costs a similar amount to a subscription fee.
Dawntrail = gives you access to all expansions, so you can progress beyond Stormblood, but requires Starter Edition.
Complete Edition = Starter Edition + Dawntrail
