Thread: Patch 7.4 MSQ was Good. Bravo.

I thought 7.4 MSQ to be pretty good. Wuk is finally out of the spotlight and they added Sphene in her place but as a supporting character, she's way more likeable.

Arcadion finale was decent, the president's identity turned out to be someone I wasn't expecting and the whole circumstance around them was not part of my guess list. My only criticism is them bringing back a character for no logical reason.

It was alright I'm glad it moved away from whatever was going on in 7.0-7.3 other then everyone's favourite to hate character I'm also glad the twins weren't in it much more because I know they'd just have like 1-2 lines of dialog and not actually bring anything interesting to the story I dunno if i liked bringing along y'shtola and graha but sure they work towards the plot so it's fine.

I hope it remains interesting, I really hope next expansion is good storywise Just like with everything else I'm remaining careful because I don't want to overhype myself like I did when I was hype for endwalker.

I liked the MSQ and the Arcadion both.

Once they tie up the character arcs they should start giving us a new set of "scions" and leave the old ones at home. Sphene and Lumull would make good reoccuring characters to start a new cast. I feel like the Scions as a whole have become too untouchable and they are kind of making the story feel stagnant.

I felt like they could have done more with the arcadion ending. Like including the arcadion fighters in the fight itself or something. I was really disappointed in the president just turning out to be random old man.

M9-M11 were all enjoyable and have great songs, can't wait for savage.

It feels weird to say it, but I didn't hate 7.4's MSQ. I'm more intrigued about the Ninth than I was about any part of Tural. I wish we would have got this much earlier on, instead of all the faffing about we had before (7.1, I'm looking at you). Unfortunately, Treno is probably going to end up like Zero's home on the 13th and we'll never be able to visit it after this expansion ends.

Good effort, SE. You still have a steep hill to climb to sell me on 8.0, though.

I enjoyed the 7.4 MSQ. I feel like Krile finally got her due, including Krile power-trip moments that I enjoyed even though Krile ends up being a far more powerful Pictomancer than the player character.

I don't usually like Lalafell/dwarves, but I found the town endearing and I liked the people we met.

The cilffhanger does leave me wanting to know what happens next and why our course of action may result in the complete destruction of the 9th (and maybe other reflections if the story goes beyond the 9th).

I feel as though Alisae and Alphinaud were more in-character as well.

Only downer is that the acting for my two favorites still feels a bit off. Y'shtola used to speak very powerfully and her voice lines don't resonate as strongly lately. Graha I don't even think is Jonathan Bailey.

Arcadion was great if you're a longtime pro wrestling fan. It's exactly the sort of ending i expected as a fan since the Monday Night Wars, and it clearly shows the scenario writer for it knows ball when it comes to pro wrestling. Unfortunately, that means it probably was a miss for people who wanted something else out of it. Pro wrestling is just... kinda like that.

Fairly standard x.4 MSQ, it's very clear our beach episode is over and we're revving up for another multi-expansion broad story arc.

And I am well aware I'm in the minority on these forums as far as liking Lamaty'i but it wouldn't have made sense to have her in this patch's story.

Halmarut seems to have interesting motivations, too. Possibly we'll have less cackling villain style Ascians now that the whole "revive Zodiark" thing is probably not going to be a possibility.
