Graha Voice Actor Change?

I’m fully aware I’m reading into it, but it’s just interesting to me and it made me feel a certain type of way.

I went back to read it too, and it definitely would relate to this situation.

That said, if the dialogue was exactly the same in JP where the voice actor was not changed, then it probably is just us projecting.

Also, if JB was recast, these would have been the perfect lines for him to voice as his farewell.

At least according to machine translation, it's the same vibe, the only difference being that he directly references Alisaie, Tuliyollal, and Treno as examples of recent goodbyes or partings.

Yeah, I'd like some clarification from SE. I can get used to a new VA if needed (though obviously I'd prefer JB, he really IS the voice of G'raha), but they should be transparent about this. If the VA is changed, say so. If not, well, it's probably worth saying so as well, given how much attention this has generated.

Yes good point I don’t play in JP so I’m not sure what it says, nor for the other languages. Maybe someone who knows can enlighten.

I think considering how beloved JB is for the xiv community some sort of update would be nice, but all we heard apparently was Kotaku reaching out and his team saying that as of rn JB won't give any interviews regarding FFxiv

Considering SE's whole strategy to improve their financials seems to be "cut off their nose to spite their face" (ex: War of the Visions), stealth recasting G'raha and then not telling the players for 6-7 months seems to be about right.

I really do hope I'm wrong.

Square Enix needs to be transparent with us, this isn't fair to the community to recast a beloved VA without notice. I really hope it's temporary and Jonathan Bailey can continue to voice G'raha.

I wanna tell you this guys not out of spite or malice but as a warning for the future when something else like this happens.
When you vote a not very well known actor into People (yes THE People Magazine) and shine a giant spotlight on him there's bound to be repercussions abroad, you're gonna have to deal with the fallout from that, just saying. I've seen this happen SEVERAL times in the entertainment industry. Again, this is more of a cautionary lesson more than anything.
