Graha Voice Actor Change?

I don't feel like we are assuming, we just have ears.

I could just as easily tell people that they too easily assume when they are telling us that Jonathan was just tired, or forgot how to play the character he said he loves and has played for 7 years now.

That said we are all making some assumptions here, since SE has refused to confirm anything despite game outlet articles, threads like this, and people asking them on social media directly.

I'm going to be honest, my ears are hearing what I prime them to hear when I listen to the lines, and because of that, I just can't be 100% sure either way. I can make myself hear Johnny or not hear Johnny.

But this debate is ultimately pointless, and it's not what we should be focusing on. We need to focus on demanding answers from Square Enix.

Agreed, SE needs to address this issue. I'd happily be wrong. But I don't think this is a case of people "priming" their ears to hear another person. It's people expecting to hear G'raha and immediately hearing and realizing something is wrong.

I was talking about myself, specifically. Some are so certain it's him, and others are so certain it's not. But I just can't be as certain as others are that it's one way or another because I can listen to the SAME LINE twice and come away with two different conclusions.

My main concern with this is, has a VA done work and gone uncredited? I don't have a proper timeline for past recasts but I don't like the potential of someone's work being under another actor's name. If not crediting a new VA or recast in patches is normal, I'm not on board with that. They have an entire web page dedicated to each patch, it isn't that hard to add a section crediting the actors literally performing the main story.

For me, personally, I heard the reactions before I went in, so I was trying extremely hard to convince myself that it was still him because I absolutely dread the possibility of a recast. But the more I listened, the more I couldn't convince myself of it being Bailey. That's why I feel so certain it isn't him, because if there's one thing I did is try so, so hard to convince myself of the opposite.

I'm just hoping for any reassurance that this isn't permanent. And whether it was temporary or if it's truly (ugh) permanent, I'd certainly like to know if this was Bailey's choice or if they're pulling a Troy Baker on him like it was mentioned here before. But I don't have high hopes for getting that much transparency. Though I'd hope SE would at least explain their reasoning since the only time they've recast single VAs since the studio change was in the case of an actor passing away.

The only previous replacements I'm aware of are when they moved the recording to Britain and replaced everyone, and when Yugiri's VA was murdered. I know Edmont's original VA also died, though I don't think he's had any voiced lines since then. I don't think the first instance was communicated until well after the fact (if at all), but Yugiri's situation was something that they really couldn't just stay quiet about. If they don't comment on it, the new guy probably wouldn't get credited until the next time the end credits roll.

The next credits roll will be in 7.55, which, based on previous patch cycles and when Fanfest is, looks like it'll be in APRIL of next year.

It should be even further than that, no? I believe the next credits roll will be with that very last story only patch, 7.58, which could be as far as over six months from now. April should be the rough time of release of base 7.5, roughly four months after 7.4.

It would be utterly unacceptable to have no further information on what's going on with G'raha's English voice until then. Though if he still sounds completely different in 7.5, or if he goes back to sounding normal, we'd have our answer...? But that still leaves us hanging for months, which is, again, unacceptable.

This uproar has reached the likes of Kotaku, which had an article published mentioning they've reached out to both Square Enix and Bailey himself. If we don't hear from Square Enix, maybe we can at least hope to hear from Bailey or his agency?

Well, if they've reached out to Bailey and he does hear about it, we can at least hope that he won't be unaware that he's been recast with no announcement like Troy Baker was with Tales of Vesperia. Hopefully some official sources clears things up soon, and hopefully it's positive towards Bailey staying.

im only up to the trial but honestly think it isn't him.

I heard it might not have been him prior to me starting so i was prepped slightly to listen from the start.
Ive been listening every single line for any resemblance to JB and .. its just missing? maybe my sound is broken for me not to be able to hear it which others are saying?

folks have said krile and yshtola sound off also and whilst some lines seem odd i can still hear their characters within them. with graha its missing.

im also a little unsure why folks have said there are so few lines? hes had more VA lines in this patch than 7.1-7.3. this has been a MSQ movie so far with so much VA. (explains why the new DPS food is caramel popcorn XD)

his very last lines in 7.3 were JB but a very exhausted JB. and it matched graha at the time as graha was about falling asleep on his reports. his tone was quieter. his voice in mahjong is also slightly off as hes whisper speaking to you and we never got that in msq (recommend to do that btw) but still definitely him. this is what i expected at the least when i went through it and i just cant hear it.

if anyone can point to the parts y'all are saying it is JB it would be appreciated and i can go relisten
