I feel like gnashing fang having 2 charges and bloodfest being on 60sec instead of 2min is pretty cool, not so sure about how the max 6 cartridges are gonna feel like.
At this point they should just make every job 1 button cause they don't want jobs to have any challenge and instead just have fights be the challenge

The lobotomization of RDM is... the melee combo being ranged on the 2-min window? And having all GCDs be fully buffed during the 2 min burst windows?
Will feel better at max level. Outside burst, it will feel worse below 100, since you'll then be pooling the Gnashing Fang combos for No Mercy for lack of the Lionheart combo. It could probably be fixed by making Bloodfest give a free Gnashing Fang combo before level 100.

It's basically like Monk's Chakra - You are able to overcap during the Bloodfest burst to spend it quickly and anything banked before it (due to various reasons) is not gone.
i'm personally a bit more on the fence looking at the GNB changes, to be honest. They do make high level play more simple from what I can see, but they also seem to decouple GNB from its rigid structure a bit, which could be fun in content with a non-static timeline (if we ever get one of those again...).
could also be that my perception is skewed, i haven't played PvE GNB in a hot minute.

Bloodfest is on a 1 minute CD, now gives 3 bonus carts that stack with the normal 3, so can hold 6 total. Double Down is now 2 carts, Gnashing is still 1, but got 2 charges so it doesn't drift.
It means that going into burst every minute, NM and BF will give you all the resources you need. Only way to overcap carts is with combo-finisher.


These changes to RDM or PSB are terrible. Why are they treating players like brain dead people?
Right, I don't know why people think 8.0 is gonna suddenly do this 180 degree turn and make every job complex or whatever. The design philosophy is really simple: make things accessible so more people play and spend money. That's it. They've tried to keep people happy by making the content more complex (see: all the people whining about DT dungeons for being too difficult), but since the content is the same every time, you can just run it once or twice and understand it. Then you're left with solved content that you run on a solved job for 4 months while nothing new is added. If the jobs themselves were more enjoyable, this wouldn't be nearly as bad, but here we are. Don't expect 8.0 to magically save this mess.People who are still hoping 8.0 will bring positive job changes need to wake up.
Not the worst changes in the world like it could have completely ruined the job, to me its more like what they did with ninja recently it's not the worst thing in the world but it's certainly a small step in the large amount of steps they've been making from SHB to now to make the jobs bland, remove all rigidness from any job that has it because 1 raider complained it was bad.

I don't have a dog in this race due to not playing either GNB or RDM, but I'm reading in reddit's FFXIV discussion that this RDM change may have originated from actual JP complaints about having to get into melee range at all on RDM?
If that's the case, that would certainly explain a lot.
