Allow Home World Transfers Between Congested Worlds

I am trying to consolidate my friends who all started the game at different times to the same world - however, everyone is on Crystal, and currently both the world they are on and the world I am on are congested.

It would be great if there was some sort of "waitlist" system where people could ask to be transferred, and when people on the target congested world transfer out (or are waitlisted to do so), it allows "switching" the characters who want to leave and the ones who want to join that world.

One way to simplify this could also be to have this evaluated periodically (rather than constantly) similar to the housing lottery cycle - you get notified and have until the next cycle starts to "accept" the invitation to follow through with your request, going back to the end of the line if you do not do so.

I know this may reduce incentive for everyone involved to join lower-population worlds/DCs, but honestly that is not something anyone in our group is interested in, and I doubt we are alone in that.

The entire reason "Congested" status was created, was to prevent Home World Transfers. That is the only reason the status exists. Because prior to it existing, people used paid transfers as a workaround to get onto Balmung and make it endlessly more congested.

So, allowing transfers would defeat the very point of it: to prevent the overgrowth of certain worlds at the expense of all others.

Eventually, your world probably won't have Congested status, so they just need to world visit to it for now and then transfer when it opens up. If they can't do it while it's open, then the alternative is for everyone to move off to a world that is less likely to get Congested status very often.

While I understand that, and it is a fair point, part of my suggestion was designed to prevent that issue.

I am not suggesting allowing transfers that would grow the net population of a world - I am suggesting allowing people to say "I would like to switch to world A" and when other people say "I would like to leave world A", it being possible for characters to basically be "shuffled" around worlds so everyone gets to go where they want, without the net population of any of the involved worlds increasing.

I do think your idea of a waitlist function would be a nice addition for those wanting/waiting to get on a specific server.
That said, in your scenario, if none of your friends have housing to consider, transferring to a preferred world might be a good option.

Or to just wait for the next time they redo world congestion. Which will be in a few days--it's very unusual for all of Crystal to be locked, so everyone can move to a free world on Crystal next week most likely.
