Now I hope everyone can see precisely what I mean by hardcore dishonest defenders!
No one is trolling my guy. People are simply pointing out that while you are intent on calling people dishonest and claiming they are simply white knighting FFXIV you yourself are being dishonest with your argument that content is Souls-like. The article you linked clearly states that Yoshi P assured that bosses in this game would never be akin to a Soulsbourne boss and they aren't.

Yoshi P clearly meant that he wanted to replicate the sense of accomplishment he got from beating a tense encounter in Elden Ring in FFXIV because he was bored and didn't feel joy in casual content.

What this comes down to is you are dying on this hill and trying to discredit anyone who doesn't agree with you.

This game has many problems and many reasons to quit but the reasons you gave are all personal and have nothing to do with the games problem. All your friends leaving, thats unfortunate but the nature of MMO's. Beastmaster is just strange its more content but then again I suppose this whole post is about you being angry that the game doesn't have the content YOU want.

Stop throwing around accusations without looking in a mirror and please realise that "FFXIV bad hehehe" is a cold as ice take right now, especially in these forums which is strange considering people need to give the game their money to be here hmmm...

Its very weird to read an entire post from someone that really has no idea what they are talking about. Implementing stuff from dark souls? What, where? Did the couple of drinks you had before making this post get you confused? Also large FCs dissolve all the time, drama happens, just because some people decided not to play together anymore doesn't mean the game is dying. Wait you quit the game because of a limited job? What even is this complaint? Its beyond goofy or dumb, its completely nonsensical.

Of course there is also intersecting opinions between those two and nothing is binary depending on who you ask.
Yeah, it's a bit of a complicated topic, hence I tried emphasizing the fact it's my opinion. I do feel the developers also takes things to extreme and for example made Forked Tower ridiculously hard for what it should've been, in my opinion. The game doesn't really have the systems in place to let casual players tackle hard content in the context of field exploration. That said, I was mostly talking about dungeons, which for much of Endwalker it was criticized for being too easy. Now, in Dawntrail, I hear every so often the opposite, but who knows lol. I feel the answer to how the game should tackle difficulty is somewhere in-between, but that's another thread.

And sincerely...how have I ignored them? I have directly replied to things I didn't agree with...again I ask, if someone doesn't respond to every post or comment...does that automatically imply they ignored that post or 100% disagrees with what has been said? And with respect...there is a clear difference between what I called hardcore defenders to the notion of a white knight which I never said. But thank you for putting words in comments or labels I never made.
Again people can disagree with me...and just because I did not reply does not 100% mean their comments were not read or not agreed upon.
    1) I've lurked in the forums for a while now and seen many of this people openly criticizing the game in other threads. Also in my opinion, out of any discussion platform, the forums are also the most openly critical of this game. Yes, you have people who defend the game here, but recently it's really just been people criticizing the game because of it's multiple mistakes in Dawntrail and before.

    2) I used hardcore defender and white knight interchangeably. I apologize for the confusion.

    3) I don't mean you are actually ignoring them, but it does feel you haven't really taken anyone's opinions into account. Perhaps you have, but I don't really get that from the posts you made.

I apologize ItsKylos and thank you for being cordial...I can understand your perspective from your replies. Allow me to be very transparent if I may, I missed FF14. I missed it very much. After 12 years in a game that brought me countless positive experiences, I only want it to be better. Yet there is a reason why more and more players over the past 3-4 years have been relying on third party applications not allowed in FF14. There is a reason why more and more people are and will become more reliant on this applications. We don't have concrete data anywhere, but I can speak from first hand info from old FC members on when Dawntrail came out that they needed to rely more on these apps they felt more than they did in Endwalker. And this was 2-3 weeks after the first raids dropped.

Again, I cannot give you a solid basis for you to conclude what I am saying is factual, only that I hope what you take what I say with a grain of salt. No, FF14 is not exactly like Dark Souls or Elden Ring, yet it should be very fair to say that it is foolish to think that SE did not take marks from those games and implement ideas into FF14 raids. People can disagree, as I will also disagree with them based on my own perspective.

As for the leveling experience, I hope you understand, I am a Grinder! I love to level up. I love doing content that will keep me massively occupied in game for hours. Yet we again in another expansion did not get that. To be fair, this is my biggest gripe with Dawntrail. Instead of listening to the hordes on the forums begging YP and SE to give us another Bojza/Southern Front...they ignored us. Instead of listening to years of critiques from thousands of players begging SE not to ruin yet another Job from Final Fantasy history making Beastmaster into a another limited job...they ignored us. Now I know this last part about BST is new context...my point is, SE keeps ignoring their core player base. The very same "filthy casuals" who comprise of 80-90% of their subbers based on achievement data, instead of creating content to sustain that base...YP/SE seem to only care about appeasing the smallest bite of the playerbase for some completely unknown reason. And for me, that is the main reason FF14 keeps losing subscribers from 12 years in game because of the constant division of the playerbase from low pop played content and limited usage jobs being played. For myself, adding a entire bit of content that has no usefulness outside of a weapon or glamour like Dawntrail's exploratory mission and them again adding in another useless Limited Job which is being locked out of almost all current content making it practically useless unless with BLU is really bad design.

Sorry for the rant, but I hope baring it all out hopefully explains much of my position. Be well!

Yeah that makes much more sense. I was a bit confused why Beastmaster would make you quit, but from what i understand it's more of the devs being unwilling to listen that made you quit. Jumped the ship before the captain sunk it themselves.

Honestly, I wish the team was more transparent on that regard. Something recent that happened is that Yoshi-P confirmed in an interview that one of the reasons for the glamour change to unrestricted was because of the recent takedown of a third-party tool, making him realize that the only reason people used them was because they wanted the feature of unrestricticted glams in the game... which made me think, shouldn't they know about this due to the past discussions in the forums of unlocking glamours? Did they not think it was that big of a feature until they delved into the third-party tool and struck it down? It's baffling to say the least and only brings into further question if the feedback is reaching them in the first place.

Continuing on, I enjoy Blue Mage, but I have seen a lot of critiques when it comes to the implementation of limited jobs. I kind of hope that by 7.5 they reveal more of the thought process behind why they went ahead with it. I feel this is more complicated since while I feel there was a group of people who did not want limited jobs, there was another group that did want another limited job hence the creation of Beastmaster. I was just searching reddit threads and one thread was negative about limited jobs and another thread was positive about limited jobs. I feel like Blue Mage is in a weird position that it can't be implemented properly as a job without stripping it of its identity with how the game functions currently. Sure, they can change how the game functions to fit Blue Mage, but that's a lot of work for one job and you risk alienating the player base. There's more valid reasons of why the gameplay should change that could retroactively make Blue Mage work.

Beastmaster... I feel they could have made it work lol, but I guess it's similar to Blue Mage where they wanted the job to be more similar to it's XI counterpart and they chose to make it a limited job for that reason. That said, I could see it adapted to how FFXIV's combat with how it is right now whereas with Blue Mage I struggle and feels like FFXIV's combat would need to be reworked in order for Blue Mage to work.

Bozja XP... I feel there was a lot of feedback around that period and they took other elements of Bozja and implemented it into Occult Crescent. I wouldn't say they ignored the feedback, but messed up badly by not letting us level. As someone who is leveling jobs at the moment, I would loveee to farm in Occult Crescent like how I used to farm in Bozja. It sucks, it really sucks.

Anyways thank you for giving us more of an insight on what you thought! I also ended up rambling quite a bit because you have some points, even if some parts of my opinion might differ from yours.

They always like to bait with promises that they never deliver or deliver extremely late. All those "housing update" hype only to turn into: "welp, 7.5 it is... maybe". A lot more of this...

Also am tired of having to play raids where memorization is in play. That is extremely boring and not fun anymore. But alas, they can't change this because there's so many things in this game that don't matter at all so we come to homogenization very quickly.
