There is no option in the game to 'always display extended hold hotbar'

There's an option in UI settings to 'always display WXHB' - the hotbar on PS5 which requires double tapping L2 or R2. It displays indefinitely just above your standard hotbar like it would when you activate it.

But there is no option to always display the extended hold hotbar (L2+R2/R2+L2), this seems like a huge oversight. Every player I've come across regarding this issue has stated the same thing that I feel, they don't want the WXHB always visible because double tapping triggers isn't a smooth and quick way to access job actions. As a result people don't use the WXHB double tap hotbar for important actions. People much prefer to use the extended hold hotbar for their additional job actions (GCDs or OGCDs) due to it's ease of access.

With no option to always have extended hold hotbar visible, players cannot see when those actions have cooled down.

Please consider adding this feature in, it would make life much easier for console players.

Although having more options to the game is always good, you already can do what you want with the options the game has now.

You know you can drag skills to 'normal' hotbars (the ones that are not cross-hotbars), right?

And you can macro all hotbars including cross-hotbars to hide and show whenever you want with one press of button.

I tried this yesterday, the normal styled hotbars whose grid layout can be changed, could not fit all of the actions onto it, I believe it was 4 spaces short. And would manually need to have every action for all jobs moved onto it in an order that close resembles the extended hold hotbar - as they are displayed in random order, and for some reason it had one or two actions on it from another set which was not selected.

I would have in the mean time used the WXHB (always displayed) with duplicate extended hold bar actions just so I can see their timers, but I have to use the WXHB for uncommon actions that won't fit on the other bars.

I use a standard hotbar under my cross hotbar for skills where I want to track the cooldown. Just make sure it isn't a "shared" hotbar, and then you can see it for each job. I only slot skills where I need to see the cooldown.

If you want it to better mimic the layout of the extended crossbar, you could also use multiple regular hotbars and change the shape to something like a 3 x 4 to set the ability icons how you want.
