Are we talking around each other by chance?
Those raids as "forced" content like CT would be my "personal" preference (like I wrote before).

Just using those characters and telling players to either do those raids or miss out on the references or just read the encyclopedia would be my realistic solution.

If you don't have a problem with for example Gaia just popping up in that vein then all is fine.
My problem are those who refuse to do those raids and then complain about the writers using them as references like back then in Shb before CT was mandatory.
Those are the people I mean when I say they deserve to be told to "suck it up".

Eden has a very strong meaning for other shards.
If they skip that thing in the MSQ just because some players miss out on it by their own choice then that's where I have a problem with.

I also already gave my other solution with CT in that they should remake that thing so it's at least not a boring rush fest.
I am sorry but I just don't agree with the roadblock argument.

If people want to buy a skip because they are afraid what other people think of them then so be it frankly.
I promise you, no one thinks more than a few seconds why CT popped but are more annoyed that it popped in the first place and I have never met someone who blames a sprout because then at least it had a reason.
