Are we expecting TO MUCH from 8.0?

Idk, maybe I'm being negative but I don't see any big changes.

I feel like We going to get the same boring dungeons/raids, same boring leveling, same open world with nothing to do.. Same horrible Holiday events.. I dont see them changing any of that.

I hope I'm wrong I truly do but I dont see it happening anytime soon

This pretty much. 7.3 was the final straw for me, I basically quit the moment the final cut scene was through - DT was a hard ride so far, and I'm really not interested in Ascians Bogaloo Asahi 2.0 edition, tyvm. Just returned for the Moogle event, as I always liked this sort of easy going gameplay.
Will neither stay for 7.4, nor buy 8.0 - unless I hear widely praise in the form of "they really learned from their mistakes". Which means I will most likely not be back So, SE - ball's on your side now, go ahead and proove me wrong!

I actually don't have very high expectations. My biggest hope is that the MSQ makes me feel what I felt when I played through Shadowbringers and Endwalker. I'm hoping for a return to that level of storytelling. To play through a damn good/compelling, story, enjoy it, reflect on it, and sometimes watch reaction videos from other players to see if they felt the same way I did when they experience it.

The biggest ask is them starting to make gameplay better.

DT is not going to be hard to beat in terms of story. But there's always the risk of things just getting worse.

as long as they fix jobs and make them unique again #bringbackstormblood, and honestly fix combat in the game it should be fun at every level, everything for every job, jobs shouldn't be lame trash unless you enter savage with them thats just bad game design. They fix that and idc what they do even if the story is horrible at this point im fine with that fix combat and jobs

Not me. My expectation bar is practically on the ground right now. I honestly don't expect much anymore. 2 things I am kinda looking forward to are: 1) we get away from tural and wuk, 2) I'm curious about the new job(s).

Considering the amount of money Square-Enix gets in subs from this game alone, why wouldn't we expect actual quality? This is a paid live service + paid expansions game. The player count diminishing should be warning enough that they cannot continue with their stale recipe and need to change it up.
