Thread: BLU's release timing in 7.x.. (Not in 7.45?)

I run a small discord dedicated to BLU content (especially helping newer BLU get their morbol mounts). We were all excitedly waiting to hear about details BLU, since it got updates in both 5.45 and 6.45. We'd even started discussing groups and how to tackle pandemonium and EW EX fights, and possible new spells

I have a big concern that BLU and BST (Beastmaster) will be released too close to one another and compete for the same limited job space... and that BLU will not have enough time to breathe and be enjoyed before people jump on the new shiny limited job.

Is there any chance that BLU will still be released in 7.45, but it simply hasn’t been announced yet? (Seems unlikely, but copium lol)

This would leave Blue Mage updates to potentially release in 7.55.

I feel that overall spacing of content releases has been a somewhat of problem this whole expansion.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that 7.4 seems to have a pretty good amount of content but to me, it seems that the end of the expansion will be content dense while the first half has felt comparatively light.

As a personal opinion, BLU could have potentially been released in 7.1 or 7.3 and afforded much more space between the two limited jobs, so that people would have had plenty of time to enjoy both.

I just hope that in 8.x BLU and BST are separated more. Even if, as mentioned by the above post, BST is 7.5 and BLU is 7.55 (or vice versa), I feel like it causes one limited job to become somewhat overshadowed by the other

My guess is that the limited job format as a whole is getting an update to fix the rising incompatibilities with current fight design, and it makes more sense to release a Blue Mage update alongside that.

It was stated in the keynote of Tokyo fanfest before dawntrail's release that BLU would be getting an update this expansion, so based solely on that information, we should expect to receive a level cap increase (and content update?).

Then again, it wouldn't be the first time something was announced and was pushed back an expansion (looking at DSR...)
