Quest: The World without You (crafting)

Hello All

I have this quest opened since a while and decided to give it a go, but something weird happens with the quest log and I prefer to clarify before - potentially - wasting more mats and gils.

Problem: I crafted 2 starlens braces (collectability 231 for 110 minimum required). They are in my main inventory (not in armoury chest, saddlebag or elsewhere). Although that, the quest log shows 1/6 only (instead of 2/6).

Question: What can be the reason? Question cancelled, see follow up.

UPDATED BASED ON EXPERIENCE:
The quest log doesn't record how many we craft, but how many we have already handed over to the NPC!

So, if the quest log is showing 3/6 for example, it means that you have already handed over 3 of the items to him and you only need to do 3 more.

I will add, not that you need it but for potential future searches, that this ends up being true of most crafting and gathering quests. Its especially true for any that involve collectables. The quest counters get updated when you turn them in, not when you make them. This way if you accidently mess up an item(for instance you hit the wrong button and finish a craft before doing all the quality building you wanted to) you arent forced to accept the lesser results and can try the craft again(repeatedly if necessary) before being graded and rewarded.
