I like how Yoship keeps taking the wrong points from feedback.

The developers do not change things in the game because of a random forum post with two upvotes. They change things because they want to and may use "feedback" as justification.

Sometimes, they do implement things people want (such as the glamour unlock) and sometimes they implement things that people haven't provided a lot of feedback on (sudden Kaiten removal mid expansion). The changes to DRG and BLM in the current expansion, for instance, were met with a lot of criticism, especially considering how many posts there were asking against simplification... and they went through with them anyway.

Sometimes the feedback they use may not even be from the players but their internal testers, QA or the developers themselves. We can never truly know but I highly doubt it's a random post with two likes, especially when JP players in the forums tend to provide feedback in huge megathreads with plenty of posts and varying amounts of likes.

I really don’t know how to explain proverbial spin the wheel changes from the consumers perspective isn’t good to the point people are trawling the forums to look for attempted justification for what the devs are doing

The devs don’t have to follow the feedback of every post on the forums but when feedback to the customer looks like they are throwing darts with a blindfold it becomes problematic, and square does little to justify what they do, if they say “feedback” is it wrong for people to then look for forum posts hoping to find something that matches

Even when there were a lot of complaints in the forums, there was always kind and thoughtful questions during the Live Letter that came from specialized forums here on the boards.

I dislike everyone jumping on the "forums are negativity" bandwagon. Yes the General has always been like this, but there was helpful and meaningful questions that came from the forums that were answered in the Live Letters.

The real problem isn't the players, the real problem is the moderators. Suddenly we've forgotten what service they offered us and our direct communication to the development team. That's gone. That's the problem.

Like... Don't sit there and ask people to leave feedback on a forum, and then subsequently ignore the majority of that feedback (even among popular feedback)... Then don't be surprised if people eventually get tired and as aggressive as what they are currently... Like, it's basically by design at this point.

Part of the problem is the players, but engagement is a massive problem.

A lot newer players (Past 5-6 years perhaps) simply wouldn't know or appreciate the engagement we used to get out of Live Letters and Developer Panels... I still remember that one panel in Stormblood where Koji was polling and engaging with the audience for a new in-game fish... Vegetarian I think it was..?

That was a FanFest and I was there for that, it was a lot of fun!

No, of course it's not wrong. We want to understand why and it's logical but... unfortunately it happens because that's their design vision for it and we just have to either take it or keep providing feedback and pray they make the right choices. I mean, you know it very well: feedback on healer issues with a gazillion posts and likes has not been addressed in years.

When they say "leave feedbacks on the forum" they mean positive feedback. Like how you cannot say anything negative on the game in the exit survey.

They never listen and that's what we know. But this also comes down to people who don't know what they want. We ask for better jobs -> people complain that they don't want 2.5 gcd meta removed (2 minutes) and so on because "i like it". Then how are you going to fix anything? Same with other aspects of this game.

Bragging won't do anything, but at least make up your mind. Almost like some are scared of any criticism for this game.
