Yes, indeed! We need to sit in silence and say "Thank you, SE!" every time they pull some new sh*t. No need to give them a warning as to why their game is struggling.

On a more serious note, this is pretty much the only place for western audiences to speak up. Their twitter basically ignores any non-Japanese posts - if they react at all - and we have no path of communication with the devs. Nobody knows what even happens to suggestions sent the via in-game system. I do not like this place either and there are plenty of people I disagree with but everyone should be able to speak their mind and if something one themselves thinks is incorrect gets a lot of support then that is fair, too. What SE does with the info - if they actually read any of it - is up to them. They are at the end of the day the professionals hired to create a good experience.
If you care about the game and you think there is something wrong it is in your best interest to voice it.

It doesn't matter if people have contradicting opinions, that's true for every place because we aren't a hive mind.
It's the job of the devs to find a balance.
Jobs are the perfect example for that.
Instead of changing jobs away from how people like them just to attract new players they should have made new jobs that fulfill those wishes.

They failed in that regard and of course those players, myself included, are unhappy and voice their frustration.

You can't deflect criticism with a "but other people contradict you".
That's not how it works.

What I do agree though is that the tone in which people voice their criticism should change here.

To be fair, by their own design, this forum theoretically isn't going to be a 'neutral space'. For instance, you have to be subbed and remember to log in at least once every... uhmm... I forgot how many weeks (lol, 3 weeks IIRC?) before they just outright deny your post & it'll stay like that until you login again. Free Login campaign is another way to not pay a sub and still voice out your concern but that doesn't happen pretty often.

Despite all that 'barrier' however, that this many negative feedback still bubble up their way to this forum (with increasingly more frustration expressed as time goes by!) only makes me think how it shows their poor code of conduct when it comes to receiving, listening, and reacting to feedbacks in general.

A good example is the bad balance between the jobs. If you want a good balance then you have to remove every difference between the jobs. But now, you get complaints, that the jobs are too similar.

And the balance is still terrible anyway.

We need the same kind of community team we had back between 1.x and ARR. That group was absolutely amazing and were incredibly liked by the vast majority of the players at the time. But nope, ARR launches and they get the boot, except for the least personable one of course. No idea if he is still with the company or not but the rest moved on and we need those kinds of ppl back.

Except that this place has always been a cesspool of negativity, even when the game was running expansions that were phenomenally popular. ShB is practically universally viewed as the "best" expansion, but if you were around the forums during that time, you'd think it was the worst thing SE ever did. And it's not "increasingly more frustration" - I've been here a long time, it's always been like this. Which in a way sort of makes sense - people who are happy are mostly just playing the game, while people who aren't complain, both to do so and eventually knowing they'll get an echo chamber egging them on around here. During ShB, it was the people who didn't like how the Ascians and Sundering got retconned. During EW, it was the people who didn't like how the retcon got retconned itself. During DT, it's the people who didn't like the "happy vibes" approach, sudden shift in the middle of the MSQ, or are just part of the segment of the gaming population who couldn't stand that they hired a trans VA. It's whoever is dissatisfied that spends most of their time here, while the people who like each set of changes just go back to playing the game.

That is kind of what the forums are for. We do have threads in here celebrating new decisions, patch content and the like. They are less than complaints, but they are there.

But yeah. What you are essentially suggesting is that what is being discussed here has no merit or value and we should just shut up and glaze SE more - as if that did not lead to EW and DT.
They know very well how important listening to the community is and yet they just seemingly do not do it. It is a frustrating situation that does not exactly lead to much positive feedback. And this will forever stay the case until they decide to hire people in the west to actually communicate with their base, play the game with them and have a back and forth exchange with the main dev team. That is the only way to not only get a balanced spectrum of input but also somewhat quell the frustration of being ignored for so long to a degree.
Until then this is place will be the way it is. There's no medicine for the symptoms of way things currently are being run.
And lastly... as SE said so nicely themselves - when people complain they still care. It's the quiet ones that leave first. Once the complaining in here stops you know FFXIV is on its way out.
