I'm inclined to agree, the guy has kinda lost his touch. I remember in the old days when he would listen to feedback and seemed to get the proper message from it and was trying to genuinely emulate what made other large MMOs great. Where did that guy go?

Nowadays he's trying to emulate mobile games (massive mistake) and seems to have lost his ability to accurately grasp criticism if he even listens to it at all. It's like I told my landlord I didn't like the tree in my yard blocking my windows and he ignored it for 2 years and when he finally "took care of it" his response was to just remove the windows from that side of the house.

The worst feedback he can take is to make this game more like a mobile game, leave that to the 14 mobile game to do, and let the retail XIV still be itself

100% agree with you. I wonder how long it's going to take before the Yoshi P can do no wrong fanclub wakes up from the copium and realise this too.

I don't see as much copium in XIV as I do in, say, World of Warcraft. In this game, people feel the negative impact of an expansion very severely. The forums get really nasty and players just stop playing.

With that said, I think Yoshi P needs to either wake up and fight for this game, or step down. I don't want him to step down, but he needs to resurrect this game the same way he did in A Realm Reborn.

If he doesn't have that passion to fight for the game, then it's game over for all of us.

If anything they ought to be looking to the game's past for inspiration (ARR, HW, SB) along with other classic MMOs. Feels like they want to make anything but Final Fantasy XIV nowadays.
