Because nose piercings look trashy and attention seeking, considering Tattoos are the bodily equivalent of Graffiti in a run down ghetto, piercings are pretty much the metallic trash cans in front.
Theres a difference between aesthetics and vandalism. Considering the games already solid visual identity after all. You wouldn't paste tacky stickers on a Lamborghini, would you?
It’s the ultimate way to strip these unique fantasy races of their inherent charm and replace it with a generic, low effort modern template.
This has to have been the funniest forum thread ive ever read in my entire life LOL
its not funny... why you think it is is beyond me, but seriosely people talk about hideous but also are fine with half naked chars running around with gaint chocobo heads, or dressing as xmass bs or a turkey or some stupid bs but draw a line at piercing, or tattoo seriosely

I'm not one for inked hides or face shrapnel either, but it's also not my body, real or digital, so people should be able to customize themselves as they see fit because its about their own expression, not whether I'll like it or not.
Worst case scenario, there's a blacklist if one wishes to cast anyone they deem unfitting from their sight (whether its from character customization or glamours), and we can always just ask for more slots.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. This comes off as just bad faith.Because nose piercings look trashy and attention seeking, considering Tattoos are the bodily equivalent of Graffiti in a run down ghetto, piercings are pretty much the metallic trash cans in front.

You deciding against piercings and tattoos is the exact same level of personal self expression. Comparing my cutesy tattoos to public vandalism promoting gang activity is just offensive.
"You wouldn't paste tacky stickers on a Lamborghini, would you?" I can do whatever I want with my Lamborghini. I wouldn't put a sticker on yours because I have sense. I don't crap on your taste because it's not my body or belongings.
Wow.
Why would I not talk badly about something that offends my eyes and sense of harmony? Honesty is a virtue after all. It’s exactly like property value: you can do what you want inside your own house, but the moment you let the lawn turn into a junkyard and paint your fence with graffiti, you’re dragging down the value of the entire neighborhood.Whoa, whoa, whoa. Oh bloody hell...Why would I not talk badly about something that offends my eyes and sense of harmony? Honesty is a virtue after all. I'm not a fan of tattoos or piercings either, would even outright call them a turn-off with how much I don't find them appealing, but I still acknowledge them as body art and that they may hold value and significance to the person who gets them as its still "their body their choice". We don't get to dictate their personal aesthetic any more than they can dictate ours, least of all in a video game where even the company behind it puts a lot of emphasis on personal style, and allows for some tattoos and piercings already.
If you admit it’s an unappealing "turn-off", you’ve already conceded the point. The difference between us is that I value the virtue of honesty over performative politeness. You acknowledge the visual pollution but choose to defend it out of a misplaced sense of virtue. That’s how neighborhoods decline, other people watching their neighbors lawn turn into a junkyard and saying, "well, it’s their choice to be trashy."Oh bloody hell...

there is a huge difference of having your yard filled with "garbage and overgrown grass kind of stuff" and having your yard with personal decor which is exactly why i think HOAs should be illegal. If you admit it’s an unappealing "turn-off", you’ve already conceded the point. Using your yard example, thats like calling someone's home trash because they have Halloween decorations out year-round, with personal flavor hell my dream is to have a place where i can build a personal cemetery in the front. comparing a Style to.. garbage trashy lawn is just wrong of you
