What if we had an Odin trance that had us ride sleipnir and prance around doing Gugnir attacks with a Zantetsuken Finisher?

You're gonna get Lunar Phoenix and you're gonna like it.

Odin is an entirely optional boss fight, not a required one. They're probably not gonna give us an Odin-themed summon. The only reason we got Phoenix is because its appearance was part of a major world changing event in the MSQ.
Even if we did get Odin, I don't think we'd be riding around on Sleipnir or using Gungnir. Summoners are mages, not warriors. We wield books for a living. Spears and swords are out of the question. If we did get Odin, the more logical option would be for us to use non-elemental spells with high damage output and a stacking debuff or something.
At least that's what I think.

What about ifrit stance melee combo? New summoner too me is a channeler that can use eikonic feats like Clive rather than a traditional mage.Odin is an entirely optional boss fight, not a required one. I could see us summoning Odin to do his big flashy attack and us getting some sort of spell swords…
Would be nice to have all the same summons they put in 16… we have Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Phoenix and 2 Bahamuts. So give us Levi, Shiva, Ramuh and Odin! A lot of the team that worked on 16 was from 14, so I can dream! Although I would also accept Shinryu in place of Odin…

I still think the best thing they could do is instead of expanding Summoner vertically (adding more buttons overall, adding extra weavings etc), they could do so much expanding it laterally since the job is so designed for that, on the surface.
Add:
* More major summons, and split major summons into even and odd minute ones, which one you get each time is random.
* More minor summon sets, each has a summon that is slow-casting but deals a ton of DPS, one that is all-instants but medium DPS and one that is either fast casts or instant casts and low damage but has some sort of utility attached.
That way, there's so many options. If you get theses random, the skill of playing Summoner comes with dealing with the hand the game deals you. Like ideally each set also has a "theme" like:
* One set has at least one close-range attack on each minor.
* Another forces or enables extra movement in some way at least once on each minor.
* Yet another is the Warring Triad. To emulate their fights a bit each has two "phases" of only 1 or 2 attacks each then you re-summon the summon in a slightly changed form and get another 1-2 attacks. So 6 minor summons total instead of 3, 2 each.
Each time, they slot into the ruby/emerald/topaz setup, which I'd do damage/utility/mobility.

They didn't gave us not even Shiva and Ramuh, both staple summons at any FF game (except XIV)
I think they'll just add Lunar Phoenix or a 3rd Bahamut form (Neo Bahamut, maybe?)

I like neo bahamut, solar bahamut is ugly and lunar phoenix would be awful
