It would be a perfect moment for outside forces like Winterer or something else to jump in to build tension in Eorzea for a goal they have in mind. While the Scions and us have to choose a side or find a way to stop an full out war.
WoW is suffering from it's own system, it's kinda killing multiplayer, forcing you to choose between race you like visually, race passives and skills and race that belongs to the fraction that your friends chose. Nowadays it's a bit easier, but it was annoying to pick between BElves I like and any race from Alliance, because all my friends liked alliance aesthetic more.
Yeah our fractions are a bit more loose on the race, but still I can clearly imagine there being like 50% players in Ishgard because story and Aymeric and then like the rest evenly spread batween the rest.
Also we already have problem with playercount and party finder, Chaos have to DC travel to Light to have a chance of finding a party for content, imagine this but also divided to 4 fractions
