These ddos attacks are getting out of hand

I just resubbed this month and im disconnecting multiple times a day. I dont get that much time to play anymore because of work. And when I log in and wait 20 to 30 mins to queue as a dps just to disconnect and its 50 50 if I can even get back in. Its truly annoying I feel like these things have happened for years in the games past but they have yet to address or prevent it which I just take as they do not care. Unsubbed

SE doesn't care. They literally don't care. They like laid off a bunch of their NA staff and look which servers get hit? All of NA. They do not care at all. They made one announcement and have remained silent since then. It's about to hit the two week mark since we've been getting this attacks. People can't do Pilgrim's Traverse properly without having their save get broken due to DDOS. Crafters are afraid to do stuff for fear of losing materials due to DDOS. Groups can't progress in their weekly savage attempts due to DDOS. Having played, WoW, GW 2, Wildstar, ESO, SWTOR, at least those games give you updates, they at least tell you something, anything when servers get whacked. Why should I defend SE? Cause they are unrestricting glamour in December?! Am I even going to make it to December with all this constant DDOS. FF XIV is my comfort game. The game I come home after a long day of work to play, socialize with friends, do silly things. Now it's just frustration simulator. Why even bother? The funny thing is, I'm one of the few people who didn't mind Dawntrail. Now it just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Absolutely agree . its so annoying and pathetic how much money they get out of this game and truly do not care about their players at all. im sooo done with this entire company.

The easiest solution at this point is probably for them to partner with a VPN company and integrate it into the launcher to divert our connections to routes that avoid the DDoS activity. But SE rarely do anything outside of their formulas. Formulas are all they know and every time they create one, they will mostly just stick to that like clockwork.

I believe they are attacking a common route to the server and that it affects other games too, from what others have said. And that's really the most likely scenario. Why on earth would anyone care enough to attack FFXIV? Obviously there is a larger target here, such as other games or big tech companies that host numerous services.

It can be, that the FF14 servers are not the target of the DDoS. It is possible, that the failing FF14 servers are only a colateral damage. Or the hoster of FF14 has a too thin internet connection.

I disagree we should spam these forums about it, Social media too. I wish this community had the balls to actually hold SE accountable for fixing/preventing this in some regard like every other company on the planet.

I get their point, but also, I agree with yours more haha.

When that which shall not be named went down, the outrage prompted management to act and respond properly.

I think that same type of energy needs to be shown on media platforms for ddoss attacks so they can respond accordingly, cause at this point, it feels like a lot of this regions concerns are ignored and 'not their problem.'
