The flag system was preferred and used because it allowed 5 out of 6 players to find parties while literally having to do nothing. Only the party leader had to form the group and actively seek/ask people.

In this system, it's the opposite. Everyone but the party leader has to constantly check to see if there is something going on.

I honestly doubt it'll ever catch on. While the extra options and filters are really nice, I don't think it'll be widely used if people have to constantly seek the events themselves.

All the more reason to have both. If you have both the leader and the party members searching, you'll get parties even that much faster.

I think they could simply make it so that if people want a party flag over their heads they have to use the current party search system that's already built in? Just set the filters, then leave that there for leaders to look through potential members, and members who walk by other members might decide to start a group themselves with people nearby who also have the party flag.

in ffxi you had to check the /sea all level just to see if any parties needing you, you also had to be on that job seeking. And honestly ppl got lazy in ffxi. No one wanted to build parties cuz of the hassle of being a leader. I can't how many times ppl were bored or waiting for a group but no one would form one. I think ppl just don't like a hassle. They just want to throw on a flag and not worry about it. Not bothing to look, or just toss up a flag then go afk. Which were annoying. I wouldn't mind a mix system

But i think 2 reasons ppl are not using the search

    1 don't know about it
    2 to lazy to care

My question is what is stoping everyone here teaching others how to use the system? Much like other stuff in game like BR. Alot of ppl getting lazy in these games about teach other ppl. They want the game to do it. : /

I say bring back the party search menu that FFXI had. Most of the stuff in FFXIV's UI is a lot better than FFXI, but this one particular aspect is a huge step backwards. FFXI's party menu was leaps and bounds better than this convoluted mess we have in FFXIV.

The Japanese players on my server use it all the time, and so do I. It isn't hard to open a recruitment....

This message in party seek is why I gave up using it:

    "LS EVENT: LS Members Only"

There were never people making pickups. Everyone joined LS's and did things exclusively with their LS.

i think if they set up a way that if there were no parties recruiting, instead of constantly refreshing the list, you could set it up that you are searching and a message will pop up saying that a party is being assembled. then you could look at your list and decide if you want to join up.

then if a person decides to create a party, a list of all people who are searching for a group will be listed and when that person starts recruiting, everyone who is searching for a party will get a message

i like the repeated responces..... its all ways ppl looking for a group but no one forming a group. Kinda is a bit of proof to what I said. PPl are willing to look for group, but no one wants to start one. That is a flaw in the player base SE.

If they go back to ffxi system it would be a step backwards. The current sysyem promote ppl to actually form parties. Not just seek them out.

The current system is fine when people use it, but the flag system can enhance it as well. There is no reason not to add the flag as it will be useful.
