    This thread is probably misplaced and should be in a PvP section.
    There are multiple people there who dislike shatter. In general the overall feedback from regular pvp players has been somewhat mixed. Some love it, some hate it...

    Saying that I enjoy shatter - why?

    It's probably on of the best maps when played in an organised qsync event or when there are multiple coordinated teams on every side. It makes engagements and position and objectives less obvious. It's quite fun.
    I still prefer the endwalker version of it with smalls popping at random intervals as it encouraged fighting on the cliffs better, but alas it's not in a bad spot right now.
    Problem with it continues to be bad players who think ice is end all and should be prioritised over everything. I see it too often.

    It is funny that you can get teams with almost a thousand points in kills and still lose.


    All the maps/modes could use some tweaking. Games should be max 15 mins and bad ones should be 10. They should reconsider the movement buffs. Players can cross the whole map when objectives start to spawn. The games have no thought to them anymore. Just a swarm from one side to the other because everyone moves so fast.


    I have had some bad games. But they should probably consider some sort of timeout when you hit 10 deaths. Since they have nerfed premades no one should really be hitting 10 deaths. I also know SE has very little GM oversite. But trolls in the mode should get punished. Bots used to play better then some players when we had 8vs8vs8.

    You know since SE decided to randomly put you in any Grand Company team is there even a reason to have it be 3 Teams anymore? Like can we just have frontlines with 2 teams instead of 3.

    The closest we have would be Rival Wings. But in NA they never pop outside when some discord scheduled a coordinated pops, or during mogtome which they just pop naturally. They also mysteriously never mentioned Astralagos for whatever reasons.

    Being a 240 ping player, It feels strange to have my thoughts actually echoed for once, but I was also ignorant that there actually was PVP forums, ngl.

    Shatter used to be my favorite frontline map before the rework, and now I try to avoid it like the plague whenever I have the liberty to, ie, not rushing for rank 25 on my now two characters I'm actively trying to maintain. Going to OCE to farm out CC isn't viable due to not knowing peak times there, and I frag out enough on NA on Ninja to feel like I'm at minimum competent.

    My PoV on Shatter is that it gives too much defender's advantage, but it also doesn't reward playing defensively- to the point that, as others have pointed out, AFKing on ice actually hurts the team's performance unless you're already ahead on kills, in which you don't even want more than one alliance even on the ice anyways. You're not going to find the coordination required to bring down a team that's ahead, or find a team that actually knows how to fight from the cliffs, so both teams are going to funnel into the access from mid, fight each other instead of the winning team and thus fight for third place. The objective suggests ignoring PVP, but actively makes winning harder if you ignore PVP. It's backwards.
