    Glancing over the variety of early game circlets in the crafting log. Once there was an appreciable distinction between them in terms of stats, now its just 'what colour do you want the stone to be, chum?'
    Also I honestly liked replaying through ARR - there's a fun cutscene where the warrior of light gets ambushed and a sleep spell cast on them, an exchange between Nero and Livania that I blanked on etc that felt more rough hewn but satisfying back when they were lifting off Game of Thrones for inspiration.

    I think the problem is people ragequitting. If you make a dungeon that's more complicated than other dungeons or has a higher death rate, rage players will quit the dungeon at the start.

    The Steps of Faith is most likely the reason why they never stray. This is the fight for defending Ishgard. It was way too hard and nearly 50% of the players would quit at the start. They had to nerf it, nerf it again, and nerf it again to get what we play today. It's nothing like the original. The original was hard and pushed your team in a really heavy way. There were cannons, there were chains, there was so much going on and players would get lost and waste people's time.

    I'm not saying that we should never veer from the path, but if we were to veer away from the mechanics then it should be its own roulette system.

    The first few moments are what makes people stay or leave and tutorial (intro scene) is what often makes people yawn thus leave. They need to change that scene because it is almost an hour long! No fights, no voice acting, nothing...

    I would like to see less non-VA cutscenes/quests forced in the MSQ. There's a lot of filler. I don't understand why they feel like filler is helpful to the game, it just wastes everyone's time.

    Interestingly the game suddenly started feeling fun and exciting to me again after I quit savage raiding. I went from barely ever logging in and it feeling like a chore to do so, to having a generally good time even with roulettes.

    its kinda the same for me too tbh.
    i mean i got convinced to do uwu, which i take as my conclusion to hard raiding in this game. but it also feels so much different and better than modern savage raids.
    and at the same time i prog fork tower which is kinda the difficulty i would whish for a-raids (without rezz-restrictions of course).

    due to these two progs (both feel completely different than modern savage) im more activ than before. and the enjoyment carries over to other stuff.

    but while savage raiding i was several times at the point where i just wanted to quit the game. but didnt because i told myself i would finish the tier for the group.

    Content like this is designed to make you smack your head against the wall over and over. People who are really into masochism love this kind of content. It's not for everyone, just a high tolerance for pain and low infuriation.

    I'm so bored the only thing I've been doing is achievement hunting. That's all that's left to me since the story has gone down the drain, and I'm tired of looking at the same 4/5/6 faces per race for 10+ years.
