    I think they reason they don't do it is because it's a race and you're on a time limit. Most people aren't going to stop and type out something. Even if they reach the end and are waiting, it would likely just be something distracting. Also as you say, people will likely get toxic with it. This is exactly why we can't chat with the rival team in Frontline and Crystal Conflict.

    Square knows that too many people will be using 3 plug-ins to auto farm and complete the event, so they didn't bother with adding chat.
