Game pad vs Keyboard

I'm only a casual player and only have ever used a gamepad for gaming. If this game didn't have UI compatible with a gamepad I wouldn't have bought it. Really hoping for a new UI system that works even better! Really hoping we get to see it in action soon.

Actually I provided you the evidence by telling you exactly what you needed to do to fix the problem you were having in regards to a lower sensitivity with your gamepad usage. Turned out tho.. you had never even used a gamepad and was just regurgitating some stuff you read somewhere.. Just because you ignored the evidence I provided you (or likely just had no clue what I was referring to as you have no clue what your talking about anyway..) doesn't mean I didn't back up what I said. OK, now I'm done...?

A bit late to the thread~ Currently, I find the controller much easier to use with the UI we have now. But for other MMOs I use my M.M.O. 7 mouse and my n52te. I do end up using every keybind, and I particularly loved the duo while playing TERA. With 3 rows of skill bars in 2.0, I will be dropping my controller and going back to my normal MMO setup.

2.0 going to have two UI one for controller and one for keyboard so i guess you can try both.

Ahh, yeah the n52te is the Nostromo I just bought in prep for GW2. (With the G600 mouse) So it didn't work well for XIV? That kinda sucks but it sounds like your pretty confident it will work well with 2.0, which is good to see.

I am actually sure the n52te would work pretty decently with the current UI, but in combination with the mouse the UI just feels too slow and clunky, which is why I am sticking with the controller until 2.0. It would be a perfect fit for GW2 as well. I can attest to that since I was using it in the beta weekends!

That looks like a sweet setup. Also I'm sure it's a lot better for your posture as well since you are not hunched over a keyboard.

In XI I used keyboard only. For everything. Was so used to it that when I started XIV it was completely foreign to me. I am using a controller now and it is ok. If XIV introduces being able to map keys to what I used in XI, I would go back to that mode, if targeting is better.
