Game pad vs Keyboard

The game feels incredibly sluggish with a controller, and I feel that my overall performance is really poor with a controller. It was the opposite in FFXI, I couldn't stand those keyboard/mouse controls, and the controller just felt right.

The controls for this game are godawful, but they're still better than XI was on the keyboard. Excited for being able to right click enemies to attack, inviting party members, adding friends, etc.

I use a controller now, but I hate the current mouse+keyboard controls. If they can fix them with A Realm Reborn, I'll switch to them...but for now, they way too sluggish for my taste.

Gamepad all the way for me since i play on my TV on the couch and Keyboard/mouse would turn me into a hunchback after a while with my setup, also i always kinda disliked gaming with Keyboard/Mouse

KB/M makes me want to stab my eyes out.

The UI is 100% intended for a Gamepad, casting spells is horrifyingly bad with a mouse, especially if the mobs are moving around a lot.

I use GamePad i can switch target quick and also switch target type really quick so i can click on the teleport in CC/AV then go back to only targeting mobs. I hope the PC UI for game-pad is good i like it to stay about the same as now going from bar 1-2-3 because it's quicker with gamepad.

i only use gamepad to craft & gather, or when i'm feeling lazy.

I actually just bought the Logitech G600 and the Nostromo today in preparation for trying out GW2 next week. I've never used anything like them before (always controller or kb/m) so I just got both cuz I dunno how they will work yet. Does anyone use either currently for XIV? I was planning on just sticking to controller and hoping that the improvements in 2.0 will give it justice, but I'd consider using these if they work well. Might be to early to ask considering we haven't been able to try 2.0, but if people are already doing OK with them now, it should only get better right?

Gamepad all the way. so damn quick to do anything you want to do. I tend to beat any whm to heals/esunas and i find its so much easier to tank and combo etc but i have action bars laid out in such a way that im never more than 2 presses away from an ability. for example my first bar is weapon skills my second bar is abilites but its organised that i can be on bar 2 hit aegis boon press up and im on phalanx, and then press right and im on spirits within. and with monk i have like featherfoot on 2 with haymaker next to it then i can press up and have pounce. and the back combos ready.

as for targetting modes i use mode a. switch with L1 +
x enemies
o party
s friendlies
t all

my only wish is that it would target in priority of range closest mob first regardless of camera angle.

I used keyboard+mouse. in XI i played on ps2 for a long time, so when i switched to pc i just couldn't get the hand of using the keyboard to play. so for XIV i didn't want that to be an issue, so i went straight with keyboard+mouse. the only thing i notice is the general UI lag, which has gotten better little by little since i started playing.

Use a gamepad, but scrolling across the action bars feels so clumsy I feel like I have to macro a lot of stuff, but then either the macros dont fire off fully or I end up clumsily scrolling across my macro bars lol. i never had this issue with 11, granted combat was a lot slower paced.
