No offense, but you got your perspective a bit lopsided.

It is more reasonable to generally assume that their unique trophies and rewards being diminished in their meaning (i.e. "now everyone gets it for potentially free") is what they're upset about than to assume that the baseline idea is that they're upset because their account loses monetary value on a speculative (and TOS-risky) market.

Innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around. Don't make generalized statements about the worst kind of things based on pure speculation, that's just rude man.

I only learned about them bringing back the feast rewards today, and just wanted to drop by to say I feel the exact same disappointment as the OP. I worked hard to earn these during the first 4 seasons of solo feast. Didn't always succeed but that's fine, skill issue.

Since they're already making old exclusive rewards obtainable, when can I get 1.0 rewards? Never I guess? But it's the same thing - an exclusive reward.

But that's the thing - Some 1.0 items have come back before, particularly the White Ravens as replicas. If there's enough of a player demand to bring the other items back, I wouldn't guess it's impossible. It's just that most players don't notice a tattoo on your back or one specific chocobo with a unique barding.
Feast items, on the other hand, are very distinct. Many players who see them immediately look up where they can be found, especially due to the glamour restrictions we're moving out of.

You should ask yourself this, though: Do you actually want the 1.0 items? Or are you just commenting because you dislike the idea of others having replicas of something you had for years?
If you're actually interested in 1.0 items, go ahead and advocate for it. I for one have no complaints.

Money, either by wanting to sell or for having bought a Feast winner account or for having bought the victory, makes much more sense than a bunch of adults whining about their feelings towards some pixels.

I will near guarantee you that if they lock these behind ranked, you will have posts complaining day one that it isn't fair for them to have to do ranked to get the new glamour.

They might as well just skip ahead the next few years worth of complaints and just make them buyable with trophy crystals.

This game is amazing and has many fantastic things going for it. Almost everything in game is obtainable, and as a collector myself, I enjoy working towards having everything in game.

What some people cannot do, as they did not play at the time, is obtain older PvP mounts and items. What I believe that they should do is:
1. If you were top 100* in an older PvP season, ensure that you have a unique title for your hard work;
2. Make all the items obtainable after a period of time, via hard work in future PvP.

The game has massive problems with win-trading in PvP. This doesn't mean that some people didn't work hard, the ones that did not had to work extra hard. The rewards should instead exist for 100 wins in a game mode or 1000, and not top 100* in a season. There could be tokens you purchase and can sell, and then trade those tokens for any of the Feast mounts/items. This would give current PvP players a useful way to make gil. The tokens could even only drop from wins in ranked PvP. It would at least give all players an incentive to get in to ranked PvP.

People are activitely cheating to a massive degree across most parts of the game. People run bots to craft and gather whilst they go to work or sleep. This helped them cheat in Ishgard Restoration and in obtaining the mounts for many hours of that activity. People still win-trade in PvP today even though there are no real rewards. FF14 either needs to have a mechanism to delete accounts involved in that kind of behaviour and wipe them from leaderboards, or they need to make the rewards available to those that attempt to complete them in good faith via their own merits.

Having rewards for top 100 would help ranked immensely, the same way that having more rewards behind commendation crystals (Diam+) would help immensely, and the same way that having rewards accessible from as soon as bronze would help lower ranks as well. Ranked is in dire need of all of those.

I get the idea behind having a trophy like in sports competitions though, but that doesn't sit well with stuff like armor and mounts. The fomo trophies I actually don't mind when they stay specific titles (like CCRC champion and similar that we already have), or even the old unique trophies you could get as furniture for your house.
