Well...yeah? Why wouldn't someone who won what sounds like a fairly intense competition want to keep their trophy exclusive? You didn't win, so you don't get the trophy, that's how it works.

I have no strong feeling one way or the other with this debate. If it stays exclusive that's fine for me. If it becomes available, that's fine too. But I have hard time with people pretending something that only concerns a handful of players is something made "against all veterans".

Sigh... ok, look - I'm not completely on board with them originally doing it, but I can understand the reasoning. You need to compare the right aspects.

Ultimate/Savage in PVE is a challenge, you fight a script and not other players (hopefully), therefore you are not competing, so time-gating it has no meaning. If the World First race in various High-End content had rewards for the top teams, that would be a competition again, closer to Ranked Top 100.

PvP Top 100 of Feast days was a competition, not a challenge. You were competing for top spots that contained a trophy (mounts, armor) and the original idea was to finalize the trophy rewards to the best 100 that participated during each respective season. Naturally this means that for winners to be decided, the season has to end.

An equivalent to the unlimited access of Ultimate weapons would actually be originally HELLHOUND weapons, as the Wolf collars could be obtained at any season since their release (they werent available to Casual/Training mode). So you cannot compare Ultimate weapons to Top 100 rewards.


Why did they do that? Because they chose so, because Japanese player culture, at least at the time, respects stuff like this. There is probably a lot of reasons that originally lead to that system in the first place. Im ok with replicas to be introduced to give access to its designs, but I'm not going to lie to myself and say "oh there should have never been any time-gate to begin with" or make crude comparisons to ultimate.

That explains it better than I ever could.

Not that I'd defend the concept though. I think it probably was a mistake. I don't think it would sit right by people either if they suddenly decided today to introduce the same kind of exclusive rewards to the 10 first world racing teams to clear an ultimate.

I think PVP is ass overall. I hardly engage with it, and I mostly do it only if I want some of the rewards. I played this season a bit more after a 2-year break. I do, however, recognize that while I don't like PVP, there are some who really love and enjoy PVP.

So, in short, even if I don't like a mode or activity, I still am a firm believer that people should be able to obtain and have a chance to get these rewards.

You're absolutely right that I never bothered in the first place. Want to know why? Because it was WIDELY known that getting into the top 100 was basically impossible without win trading and Feast queues were absurdly long because once you DID get up there, there was no reason to queue anymore. There's no "narrative spreading" going on, these are well known problems the Feast had and entirely why it got axed completely. Or did you forget that they completely cut the game mode entirely? Do you think they would have done that if it wasn't completely unsalvageable?

No one can convince you otherwise anyways regardless of how much misinformation you spew.

But cheating is still as easy as ever, so they didn't really even solve the problem.

As someone that did not cheat (yes, haha, anyone can say this, believe it at your own choice) and had to climb a fair bit and improve at a pace to keep up with my peers... there were more people playing legit than cheating when in the Top 100.

The main reason why it was "this easy" for me was because everyone kept saying "its full of cheaters, you dont have a chance" without trying - people gave up before starting. If a lot more players would've competed, the magnitude of cheating and wintrading would have been much lesser by virtue of them making out a smaller percentage of the total player pool.

Wintrading would also become significantly harder to pull off consistently because of frequency of players interrupting their matchmaking shenanigans.

It's frankly a self-inflicted problem.

Ye well this isn't just people's fault. This is also Squares fault for creating such bad system and bad gameplay. Nobody liked Feast as it was unbalanced mess and certain classes were dominating. Specially feast teams that massively wintraded each other and got banned for it. CC players still even today get banned for wintrading It's happening always, trolls, cheaters that use plugins to get easier wins, friends in queue,etc.

Smaller population makes sure that wintrading is possible and you will also be a target of someone who had a bad day for entire day since you can't avoid them in queue. It's very fun to play pvp when there's only 10-20 same people over and over again kek.

I just don't get why it has to be these specific cosmetics and not brand new ones. I want NEW content and rewards from SE. Not old ones that were supposed to be limited time only. I didn't get those because I didn't care about them. That's my problem for not having them now. Releasing new and even better ones is what I want from SE.
