Being the solution for SE's mistake is not the correct choice.Bless you for this, because as someone who also plays late night while being on Dynamis I can't always help every sprout trapped behind mandatory MSQ dungeons/trials.
I'm at the point where I WANT Square-Enix to bring over 8-man Crystal Tower from the mobile version because I get so tired and so upset having to watch sprouts struggle to find even 12 people for the goddamn pads.

Speaking for myself, what keeps me logging in is routine. It's been a part of my unwinding routine for so long. I don't do HC raiding or stuff like that, but I do spend time in the game working on achievements etc.So as the title implies, I'm kinda burnt out on XIV for now. Haven't really logged in all that much to do anything other than a few obligations. That and I haven't really been having fun with the game in general with the current expansion. It's mostly just get Savage done, farm the current EX trail for the mount, and maybe a few side activities here and there like the Cosmic Exploration and Deep Dungeon. Maybe do an Ultimate with a close friend group as well, but other than that I just don't have much drive to play.
I've kinda done most of what I wanted to do and it just seems like forcing myself to play is not healthy and seems to make the game less enjoyable. What is it that's keeping some people logging in every day? Kinda having a hard time understanding whats keeping people tied to playing this game every day since some in my friend group are guilty of that and its a tad annoying tbh (not to the general player base but my friend group). There's plenty of other games out there to play in the backlog and in general. Also another question would be what would any of you suggest to do when suffering from burn out?
I have taken breaks before and played other games, but I keep coming back to FFXIV cause it feels like home.
Through twilight, we endure.
People need to stop thinking it's burnout.
It's not burnout.
Burnout means you've had far too much of something and now it feels mentally exhausting to even keep going on.
What people are feeling is boredom. Boredom with an expansion that offers nothing but low quality content that feels halfassed and rushed and offers less than 4 or 5 hours of "fun".
Call it what it is. XIV has become boring, and the devs seem content to let it rot.
Not sure this game has much of a future until we replace the decision makers.
if anyone is burned out they can add me and we can RP.

Have you talked to them about it? Maybe see if the crew can plan a regular non-XIV night. If they're really friends, they should at least understand your feelings. If they're really good friends, they'll see how they can make time for you in a way you'll enjoy while still having their time they enjoy with the game.I think out of all of the responses this one is probably the best one I've gotten imo. I guess if some of my friend group still play they're getting some level of enjoyment from still playing I cant really deny that and its not really my place to take that enjoyment away. I just wish I could play something with said friend group that isn't XIV is where my frustration is coming from. Especially since personally the state of the game isn't holding my interest as it was back when I first started playing during late HW to now.
I started in 2.2 myself and I've always been a proponent that if you aren't happy with what you're doing, just don't do it. Don't have to be away forever. But going away and doing something that makes you really happy can sometimes mean you come back to this game really fired up about something you missed. I've never had to break myself but I've also stuck by that rule religiously. Might mean on a given night I play one of the new console games instead of XIV, but it means I'm always interested in what I'm doing in the game and engaged with it.
This is the perfect place to advertise that square makes other games and you can and are even encouraged to go play them. You can even play games made by other companies.
I personally only play 14 after work while working out (treadmill/bike) or watching tv once I’ve completed all the new content.but I am also a mostly solo player so I don’t do anything that can’t be done alone or in roulettes. Anything that requires 100% focus on the game like EX/savage or even hunts/treasure maps is to taxing to do regularly.
True enough, at the moment I'm spending more time playing Final Fantasy Tactics: Ivalice Chronicles and PalWorld, with FF14 sort of being the 30-40 minute side gig before I move unto one of them for hours.
