Even if I have to concede that the last 2 seasonal events had a little bit more work put into them, I feel that I should not be able to complete the entire event in 5-10 minutes and get the final reward.
I remember back in the day of ARR/HW and a little bit of SB, we had LOTS of mini games in those events. Instead of paying gold at a merchent for the housing items, we had to do those mini games to earn a currency and buy them. It was so much better.
Those event were the best, even if it took 2-3 days of "farming" to have every items and some extras, it was fun. It was a nice break from the usual repetitive dungeons, raids or farm for relics.
Also, since they were earned, those reward could be sell on the marketboard. So it was an extra motivation to farm them.
Now, most of the event are like boring story with nothing to do. Just a long cinematic of 5-10 minutes with us doing few or nothing (like getting a pumpkin and some candies...)
I don't know if it's because the team that makes the event got cut in their funding, or if it's because some extra casual players were crying because they had to work a little for the events, but I just feel that for the last 4-5 years, they are all boring.
I always have hopes that it will become like it was before, but nope, every events is a dissapointment
Since you've been able to make good seasonal events in the past, I want to believe that it's possible to go back to what we had in ARR and HW.
Also, those mini games could be a good way to bring back old rewards from old events. And give motivation to people to farm them to be able to get mounts, minions, housing items or anything that they missed in the past, and doing it in the game by actually having fun, instead of having to get your credit card out and pay on mog station for those..
