They kinda have this in Cosmic Exploration for the top ranked crafters/gatherers, but it’s temporary and only works in the Cosmic zones.
Could be a cool addition, but definitely agree it would need a toggle for everyone.

Maybe change the look of the target circle when you target them? Though that would kind of overlap with the assigned colors for: Your character, party members, alliance, etc.
Guild wars 2 is already plagued with these things in the form of infusions. People turn into neon monstrosities with them. I rather not get them here.

I don't see a reason to go into being an korean mmo.
Do an ultimate your weapon will glow well enough

if it would be a toggle people wanting to show off will complain that they are unable as everybody have the feature turned off.
its simply just a bad idea for the QoL

Not just that, but if everyone has it, its meaningless.
And having such option restricted towards the hardest content only backfires to those that will never be able to get one. Relic weapons might take time, but are approachable, so at least there are glowing weapons as options. But as entire auras thats just overkill.
In instanced fights, these auras also add visual clutter, which makes it even harder to track what is going on, even more since some fights use auras as indicators. And yes, you might say 'look at your status icon', for newer people thats not how its going to work, they will just 'follow similar aura, it must be good'.
At best, an aura as an emote that then lasts for 30s and ends the instant any battle starts is something i would accept. This doesnt conflict, its not constantly active so half limsa is wearing one. And even if someone has a macro to run this 10x in a row. It still needs refreshing. And seriously, this should have been the consumable effects granted by the irregular tomestones instead of some stupid stars above your head then.
