    Glamour Class Limitation

    Hello All

Re glamour, I have understood that I can't use - for example - a crafter glamour on a gatherer, or on a summoner. We can't mix classes for glamour (although it's just appearance). It's sad, because it limits the combination I can do for nice glamour plates.

Therefore my question: Is there no way around that limitation? It's really impossible to mix glamours between classes?

    Thank you

Most items are class/job restricted aside from the ones available for All Classes. There is unfortunately, nothing we can do but wait for SE to change this limitation.

As mentioned before, sadly there is nothing we can do to get around this limitation until SE themselves allows us to do so.
However, I'd like to recommend you check out Eorzea Collection if you don't know it yet, it's a website made for people to share their outfits. You can filter by job, level and even specific gear pieces to look for inspiration for your next outfit.
Nowadays, we have tons of gear pieces that are lvl1 and available to all jobs, so I hope you can find something to your liking!

    The developers want:
    • Gatherers to look like gatherers.
    • Crafters to look like crafters.
    • Tanks to look like tanks (with bulky armor).
    • Mages to look like mages (with robes etc).
    • Melee fighters to look like physical fighters with armor, but not to the extent they take the primary attention of the enemies like tanks.
The developers are actually torn over it and discuss it a lot internally. They have done for years. But at the moment, the decision hasn't changed.

Now, given the age of the game, there are many pieces of gear that are available for "All Classes", such as certain mog station armor that even mages could wear, crafted slim fabric clothes that even tanks could wear, PvP armor that mages could wear, you can even get certain pieces of Odin armor on jobs that aren't meant to wear armor. Additionally, over the years, dungeon gear and other gear has occasionally had a random armored piece for mages and random non-bulky gear pieces for tanks.

It's possible a more limited amount of this will be available for crafters/gatherers if it is available for "All Classes". The MSQ, for example, gives you the "Scion Traveler's Jacket" which looks quite adventurous, but can actually be worn by crafters/gatherers.

Although Crafter <-> Gatherer gear doesn't necessarily have a crossover, it wouldn't surprise me if they reuse the gear under a different name with different class requirements, because SE does this a lot over a long period of time.

Thanks All for all your answers.

I understand the concept but I come from a different "world". I'm used to MMOs where we can create several chars (msq is not a roadblock + account bound/soul bound concept). We can then have as many chars as we want and give them whatever look we want, based on whatever personal criteria. Freedom and creativity have no limits.
Personally, I'm used that each of my char is dedicated to a specific purpose but the look I give doesn't reflect that class/role. It's more like I give them a personality, with a matching name and coordinated look. Anyhow, FFXIV is different and I get used to it, but it's true that I would love to have at least one char in each race. I regret that.
