    Vercion check failed [30605] [10009] [10020]

On 2025/10/20 I could login and play FFXIV without errors. I play on PC.

Today, 2025/10/21 at 2350 UTC I attempted to login to FFXIV in the same manner as I always do. The launcher gave me the following error:

    FFXIV Boot Error
Version check failed. Please confirm your network settings. If this does not solve the problem, you may need to whitelist FINAL FANTASY XIV in your security software.
For further assistance, please visit the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.

I have made NO CHANGES to my PC since last night.
My network has not changed and I can use every other app on my PC that requires network or Internet successfully.
I do not use a VPN.
I do not use any anti-virus except Windows Defender, which has exceptions added for all FFXIV-related executables.

All FFXIV related executables are whitelisted and allowed through Windows Defender.
I have rebooted multiple times and restarted the game multiple times and still get the "version check failed error."
I have also tried turning Windows Defender OFF and still get the "version check failed error."

I need help to resolve this error please

I am having the same problem. It worked just fine this morning, and I didn't even turn my computer off but now the launcher can't connect.

Same issue here. I think this is apart of the Amazon outage yesterday. I was able to get through once last night and once this morning and now getting the version check errors again. I think once the servers start getting congested we are getting pushed to a server that is still having issues. Elder Scrolls Online I am having the same problem with but not Diablo 3. I'm in CST if that helps.

I have been having this problem as well kind of recently. I have AT&T on the east coast USA and basically the routing goes to Atlanta with my ISP and down to the Miami node on NTT and the rest of the way using NTT nodes . . .

I have AT&T fiber on the East Coast as well. Maybe it's something related to their service?

AT&T Fiber, southwest USA. Same issues as well. Had this issue Monday and yesterday and was able to get in eventually, but as of today the launcher does not let in at all. Version check failed every time

I am having the same problem, have been having this issue since around the 19th (4 days ago). Also have AT&T fiber and in the SE USA. Using an Asus Rog strix, if that matters. My partner has been able to log in though (he'll occasionally have the same error but not every single login attempt like I've had lately, and can sometimes get through). I've tried updating windows, restarting computer, clearing browser history, restarting wifi, etc. Nothing has worked. If anyone gets a solution, would love an update.

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We apologize for any inconvenience experienced when trying to play Final Fantasy XIV. For us to better assist you, please respond with the following information:

Open the control panel of the PC and go to ‘Network and Internet’. Once there select ‘Internet Options’
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"
*Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    - Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
    - Flush DNS: Within the "Command Prompt" of the device, please type the command "ipconfig /flushdns".
    - Reset TCP/IP: Also within the Command Prompt, type the command "netsh int ip reset" and then restart the computer.
    - Delete the Patch Folder: Navigate to the folder using this path This PC > Docs > My Games> FFXIV ARR > Downloads > FFXIV patch (Use for either the version update error or cannot download patch files error)
Then either rename or remove the folder, the next time FINAL FANTASY XIV is launched, the client will repair the folder.
    - Change local DNS: Please try changing the local DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
    - Delete local files with corrupted character data, please note this will not delete the associated characters.

Thank you once again for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!
