That’s what I originally thought (not that I really know what goes into game design and code)Arachnophobia filters are becoming more common in games because of how common it is as a phobia.
I don't see any reason against it. It's just a toggle to switch models, right? I think having a few enemies and concepts that freak me out is good for immersion and horror but I also don't suffer from any phobia that put me into fight/ flight/freeze at the sight of it.
I have exactly that the freeze in this case. For me in particular (IRL) it depends on the situation of where the creepy evil thing is will depend on how I react.
I just went through the 11-20 set again and wanted to report more specifics for you. It does have a lot of eight legged critters and it is covered in webs and egg sacks...but...MOST of the things in there are the little tail-less scorpion crab looking things from Holminster Switch or the scorpions from the same dungeon. Later on there are sineater versions of the belladonna enemies. I honestly never saw those little things as spiders so maybe you wouldn't either, they really do look more like white bowling balls with a bunch of little legs.
None of the mobs in the 11-20 set are the actual proper spiders like you'd see in The Fell Court of Troia or Weeping City, though the belladonna-like sineaters share their rigging. It's only in the 90's that you'll encounter enemy mobs that look like the Troia spiders.
Thank you. That’s reassuring. Yeah I can just about cope with those from holminster types and belladonna ones although have a similar rig, they are more plant like so I can deal with better. Maybe I can find a group soon and give it a goI just went through the 11-20 set again and wanted to report more specifics for you. Yeah. Accessibility options like an arachnophobia filter are always good for games.
To me they are. It’s easier for me to call them things like that because genuinely the word can trigger me if I’m talking about them. I know I’m weird, especially if I can talk out the superhero. I don’t get how it works but it’s just how I see them and it helps to call them creepy or evil things.
if you didn't have a phobia or some deep rooted fear as a teen, something happened later and you need to see a therapist/psychologist to be honest. not trying to downplay it but FFXIV does a pretty good job avoiding arachnid's in the game. weeping city mobs are just plant with tentacles or crab legs if you will. Be fortunate they didn't bring over the arachnid boss from MH Wilds thats a arachnid looking thing there.

clearly doesn't understand jail breaking a PS5 for mods. BUT are u willing to go that far for .. err a game? If you are, getting a minimal PC for FF14 isn't that expensive.
It started around teens at least I think (very traumatic early teens so memory isn’t there) but I know it was in my teens I had 3 at least that stand out as the deep rooted beginnings of it.if you didn't have a phobia or some deep rooted fear as a teen, something happened later and you need to see a therapist/psychologist to be honest. not trying to downplay it but FFXIV does a pretty good job avoiding arachnid's in the game. weeping city mobs are just plant with tentacles or crab legs if you will. As for the MH yeah I’m super glad it wasn’t that they chose to cross over with. But no the weeping city ones are nothing like plants
Don’t have that option at all. Not only is it funds since I can’t work due to health its space. Even for a gaming laptop it would be difficult to have a place to put it while not in use and if I wanted to use it I’m guessing it could be harder to having a clingy cat lol
