Do filters like what MH Wilds has work? Wonder if they could implement something like that.

World of Warcraft changed every spider into a crab for The War Within if you enabled their Arachnaphobia filter because the first half of the expansion was about massive ugly spiders. I don't see how SE couldn't implement the same idea outside of simple laziness.
And I fully believe they'll choose to be lazy.

This right here is really the best and most viable solution. Hopefully SE puts in a toggle, so OP and those with OP's condition can enjoy the game like everyone else.

The one in MH Wilds only does the small ones and turns them into green slimes, which is better than nothing - but unfortunately it doesn't apply to the bigger things that are close to spider-like.
I liked the one in Mabinogi where they gave you an incense item that would turn most basic spider enemies into giant teddy bears.

I'm sorry to hear about this I could have sworn FF14 had something like this but I guess I was wrong.
I know how crippling Arachnophobia can be for people and it must be very traumatic to engage with a boss or an enemy that incapsulates your greatest fear.
I hope this situation gets addressed and heard so you can continue to enjoy the game. Hopefully bumping this thread will get it seen by the proper eyes. BUT if not I'd also suggest posting on the FF14 reddit only because I know the devs pay extra attention for social media posts. It'd also help if the issue was presented in different places for the most reach.
Again I'm truly sorry you had to endure this. Let's hope we can get that fixed, I'm not sure what that fix may look like but it's important for people to enjoy this game.

This is the exact right place to post a request like this.
For what it's worth, OP, if you want to play Pilgrim's Traverse up to floor 30 so you can see the main story, I don't remember there being any eight legged critters until deep into the 90's. So while you couldn't finish the whole Deep Dungeon without encountering spiders, you can see the story parts and also get pretty far into it for loot and such if you wanted.
Anyhow, I hope you find some relief, one way or another.
Sadly for the OP the second set of floors is absolutely infested with spider type enemies and cobwebs covering every room, the first and third sets don't have any notable spiders but they'd still need to be hard carried through ten floors considering how severe they are presenting their phobia as here. For what it's worth, OP, if you want to play Pilgrim's Traverse up to floor 30 so you can see the main story, I don't remember there being any eight legged critters until deep into the 90's. Luckily for the OP however you can start at floor twenty one and other than a few scorpion type enemies the next sets up to seventy are spider free (from my memory), so if they can just get aid past the second set they should be able to enjoy the deep dungeon at least up til then. (I've yet to get past seventy so can't comment on the last three sets)
This is of course only for if they've managed to do POTD for the unlock requirement.

Are there? LOL, the group I was in blasted through that set so fast I barely remember what the enemy models look like. So, yeah, OK, if the OP can get hard carried through that set (which seems totally reasonable to me to do given how easy the first several floors are in groups), then start from 21 on...I don't think spiders start showing up again until the 90's. And from there they are only on a few floors, but yeah when you're in the 90's you're not getting carried, you have to fight them and pay attention so actually completing the whole dungeon isn't going to be possible without facing some spiders. Anyway, with some effort and the help of some friends getting past one set, hopefully the OP can get some enjoyment out of this content.Sadly for the OP the second set of floors is absolutely infested with spider type enemies and cobwebs covering every room, the first and third sets don't have any notable spiders but they'd still need to be hard carried through ten floors considering how severe they are presenting their phobia as here.

Maybe I can eventually get some friends to help. It’s definitely not easy tho but it might be something I can eventually do. Fortunately for me scorpions don’t fully trigger that full fear. I don’t like them but for some reason I can cope with them better. Probably because they don’t frequently try and make my home their home where I live.

Seriously asking but if you ever get that raid, why don't you ask people to let you not do the fight with the spider? Just chill out at spawn so you don't have to see them, and then join the group after that boss. I'm pretty sure most people would understand.Exposure therapy sadly won’t work for me. I wish it would. I’ve even looked into hypnotherapy but it’s to costly. Sadly playing ffxvi made it even worse when I was jumped scared by one. Sadly it’s a deep routed. It’s why I will hide in weeping city behind a blanket and hope I die looking out of the arena and then I can respawn. And besides that boss and the first mobs of weeping city I actually really like that alliance raid so it would be really nice to have a filter so I can enjoy it fully
