No gear trial runs

I made an in game bug report and was told that the issue was apparently working as intended. Am I insane to think that being able to queue for the first two trials of every expansion with nothing equipped save, at minimum, a level 1 weapon has to be some sort of bug or oversight? Is it really the intention to allow players to queue in with NO ILVL RESTRICTIONS?

Did a run of Dancing Plague two days ago in which one of our party members was wearing nothing but 2 glam pieces for armor and the manderville relic weapon. They, of course, proceeded to die to every raidwide because they had (basically) no hp. I thought, maybe they were trolling and cheesed the system somehow, surely they wouldnt be allowed to queue normally with just that gear. Went to test it myself and to my surprise the queueing system allowed me to queue up for the first two trials of every expansion, including Dawntrail, with nothing equipped except for the weathered weapon and a jobstone. I was initially annoyed at the player for doing that thinking they were somehow abusing a bug, but I can't even be mad at them because this was apparently an intended feature. What gives?

Even if there was an minimum ilvl requirement, nothing is stopping them from removing their gear after joining the duty. If they're griefing you like that then just vote kick them after a wipe.

If you didn't wipe, then just move on with your day and forget about it. Bad dungeon experiences just happen sometimes.

Ah, I remember getting a NIN with an i100 ARR relic weapon against Zodiark. It was fun keeping him alive during the party stacks.
