Leaving a partt you created.. How?

I, and others have seen this. You need to leave the party you're lead in, but when you click another player and select promote to lead, it generates an error. Same thing happens if you just try to leave by the same method. The only exit option is to disband.
If I'm leaving to log off, I just do so with the party still up, hoping it will just go on without me.

Is there way to leave without disbanding?

in the party member option right click on that person's name and click on promote. THen should be able to leave the party

If you mean the on screen party list, it errors when I try to promote.

Update: Google found an earlier thread here with a possible answer. It said if you have a party finder running, you can't pass lead. (The error message doesn't tell you that's why it failed.) I'll try ending the PF first next time. (And notify the new lead to restart it..)

when you leave the party they have to restart anyway

Can confirm the issue is due to you actively recruiting in Party Finder. Got to /partyfinder then click Recruit Members then click End.
