    Saving Config Data

    Hello All

I come with a completely different question than usual. I play the game on two different computers (either/or). Unfortunately, they have different screens formats.

Up to now: I have saved two HUD configurations, each for one screen. When I logon, I just swap to the applicable one.

Problem: The HUD doesn't contain all settings. I still have to adapt the map and the chat, what is rapidly done, so fair enough. But the bother is with the size of all the different windows/fonts of the different logs all types (crafting, gathering, ...), retainers interfaces, duty finder and such... I have given up on those, and on my much smaller screen, it's terrible (crafting log covers half of my screen for example).

My question: Is there a way I could use to ease my life for the settings not covered by the HUD savings?

    Thank you in advance.

You could try copying the actual config file physically across so the same file (which holds HUD settings among other things) is shared between each system, but that involves a bit of behind-the-scenes file copying in Windows (assuming both PC versions are running on the same Windows platform, in other words if one system is still on Windows 10 and the other Windows 11, it probably won't work).

Thank you for your answer. In the meantime, I found a way to partially ease my life a bit: Upon logging on, instead of starting, I select option and in the next menu, system config. It has two useful input: One point asks for scale of global UI in % and the next point asks if it shall be applied to all UIs yes or no. Thanks to that, almost all windows take over a size adapted to my needs and it's saved for as long as I don't touch it again.

However, it's only a partial success. Once in game, I still have one or the other UI window popping up in large size, that I then resize via right clicking on the window. Fortunately, it gets saved too.

I prefer not to start manipulating the files.dat, even if it would certainly be a solution as what file contains what data is pretty clear.

Well, in the end, the easiest way would be to replace my smaller screen by one same size than the other, but that's expensive...

There is the option to back up the config file for the game and then import it on your second system. I used to do that a lot when traveling, with my home system config copied to a shared space and my laptop reading and applying the config file (and vice versa). Not sure about HUD settings, but everything else pretty much came over and I know for certain that the window sizes weren't equivalent (37" monitor vs 17" laptop).

Thank you, I will try that.

Re HUD settings: no worries with that, because we can save 4 different HUD profiles. So, I saved the HUD profile of my big screen on 1 and the HUD profile of my small screen on 2.
