    Plus history has shown that one way or another, MMORPGs will steadily neuter and/or remove their pet jobs as they age. I don't know exactly why (since it should not be the same for different MMOs), but it happens, so it seems to be some universal constant of MMORPG-design.

    Which is why visually giving us those huge FF-style summons but mechanically making us do a lot of things and just showing the summon doing it ("us giving commands" kinda) would work so well.

    I mean pets basically doubles the packets sent between th e player and server so I get why they'd be hard to optimize. Especially for a game with framework like ff14. I think shifting the pet job to a limited job was a good call because the old summoner/scholar pets had so much input lag and ability ghosting.

    Also am I the only person who likes new summoner and just wishes they'd shift the elemental mastery trait to level 50? All I want them to do is add 3 new gems for Shiva levi and ramuh and im satisfied. Maybe give us shadowflare back cuz that looked cool. I also wished they shifted all the dot skills to being scholar exclusive instead of removing most of them outright

    No I like it a lot, I basically want some details of the framework changed (like the aspected Ruin spells should make us do the GCD or cast, but the summons fires something off, purely visual change to elicit more "commanding a summon"-style) and of course want more sets of minor summons instead of the crappy Temu Bahamut we got with DT. But I like the new class a lot.
