Beta access/details?

I was just hoping we could get some dev responses on how they will select for Beta.

I'm sure they want a varied selection of gamers particularly those that haven't played the game before for more thorough feedback.

As far as I know regarding beta, Yoshi-P confirmed that Beta access is not related to Legacy status. This can be taken to mean either "Yay, we're all getting in" to "Aw, all current players are in the same pot as Joe Public".

The only people confirmed to have been able to apply for access are those who are lucky enough to have been able to attend Expos where SE were in attendance.

As one of many people who are concerned that we will have to go up to 6 months without our X|V fix, it would be a relief to at least have an idea of how the selection will be done.

I would like to get into beta myself, but if they not pick me, then I could finally touch my psp again after a long time

From what we've heard from Gamescom it's Alpha in the Fall, Beta in the Winter and release "early 2013."

That's assuming nothing major happens during the testing phases.

I'd say it's reasonable to start expecting a layout of the plan. We're paying customers who SE would like to retain, after all.

I don't mean to come off as "I deserve a place in this beta, I stuck through this game through thick and thin", because I realise that SE may not want such an easily pleased player Beta testing. Or that I deserve it because I pay for this game (no-one pays for the time Beta is on).

But I think secrecy for the sake of it is just being obtuse.

They said they're looking for commitment and that the chance of getting into beta is related to how many relics you have obtained.

We should be hearing pretty soon I would assume. If they are starting Alpha we should hear about that as well unless they are only doing an internal Alpha, 1.x wasn't but who knows this time.

Dev response would be great though.
