As far as I'm aware, we have the Limited jobs like Blu because of how OP it can get while retaining to the core class concept of what made blu Mage a Blu mage. And it's also limited because it doesn't stand with the 2 minute meta as far as I'm aware.

On topic, I love Beastmaster. It’s very fun to play as in FFXI. It’s the ultimate survival job. Though I wonder if there will be a monster hierarchy with what is stronger against what.

I hope that Beastmaster will primarily ACTUALLY be a pet job with synergy instead of something stupid or them trying to be "original". They tore out the pet functionality from SMN so the least they could do is just stick it on BeastMaster and let those that want a pet job be able to enjoy having a pet job.

Well, yes, but actually no.

BLU DPS relies pretty heavily on the combo colloquially referred to as the Moon Flute Combo, and due to some spells in that combo(Nightbloom, Matra Magic, Phantom Flurry) having two minute CDs, it is functionally a 2 minute meta, however, since BLU doesn't really buff each other, drifting your Moon Flute is absolutely not a big deal, so waiting until it's safe to do so is much more viable and you aren't punished if someone decided to be daring and did their combo sooner than you, meaning going off sync with the party doesn't exist as an issue, plus should the boss be near death, you can elect to Moon Flute sooner than you would would otherwise with fewer spells ready to push for for that last bit of damage, so it leads to BLU having an extremely versatile burst, with its main buff spells having no cooldowns, and simply having other costs associated with it.
