Butter Audit

Hi,

Apologies if it ain't right to ask here, but, would it be possible to request an admin in the support channel to audit the amount of HQ items a player has crafted?

You see, I'm trying to craft HQ Smooth Butter 10,000 times for the Master Culnarian title. The problem is, I haven't videorecorded my progress up to this point, and I've crafted 36 HQ items beforehand, so I will need to do a victory lap of 200 churns after I get the achievement, just to ensure I've actually made it 10,000 times, and I'll need some way of verifying I've crafted all that butter.

Is this something we are able to request? If not, does anyone know if we're able to request an achievement's progress be reset? That way, I could start again from 0 and videorecord every craft for verification on that second chance.

I mean, you can try to contact support and ask them about it, but more than likely you're better off just doing small increments a day so you don't lose track of how many you've made. Screenshot the number if you have to in order to keep yourself sane.

Personally I wouldn't ask to reset the counter and just make small progress every day. The progress bar will fill up eventually. You'll also get the notification when you hit the achievement.

I..... I don't get this. You're saying you want the Master Culinarian title. So you're crafting HQ butter to fill in the requirements to achieve that title. And the game is clearly tracking it for you. You're at 5,486 as of making that post. But you're asking for an audit of how many HQ items you've made? When the game is very clearly telling you? Like, the only way I can make sense of this is you're asking for something else than what you're implying.

Nyes, but it's only tracking /any/ HQ item. There's no way to prove I've crafted the specific item to attain the title, unless I videorecorded my progress, or if someone had access to my craft history logs and could officially verify. I've only crafted HQ butter 5,450 times as of that screenshot, but the progress is counting the items I crafted beforehand as well. I need to craft HQ butter 10,000 times, but, I will attain the achievement after a total of 9,964 churns (this is why I need to do at least another 36 churns after getting the achievement).

I know hobbyist developers and database admins for another MMO and they've said there should be a way to audit how many times a specific item was generated by a player. It's in a similar vein to an investigation, where a player's item interaction history would be looked at when they've been flagged for suspicious activity.

I have reason to believe an administrator can query how many times I've crafted HQ Smooth Butter by its item ID; I need to know if they could do that for me, and post confirmation publicly, to canonize my minimum 10,000 churns for the title. If not, then I need to know if they could completely reset my progress- then I could publicize and audit my own churning to prove I'm doing it 10,000 times.

The tracker says it right there...

Like, you'll get the achievement when you do 10k Crafts that are HQ. Simple as that. No need to really keep track of it all honestly since it'll come naturally if you craft a lot.

Support also isn't meant for doing things like this unless there's illicit activity(i.e. Cheating, Third Party Tools, etc.) involved. This would probably be tossed out and denied since that would involve publishing FFXIV's data.

This is exactly what the support team should be devoting it's time to tbh. I suggest filing a ticket after every craft and then at the end ask them how many tickets you've sent them.

Don't listen to this guy. I can tell you're new but seriously: Don't.

If anything you could get suspended by doing this.

That's fair, but what about resetting achievement progress?

The only time they've reset achievement progress is when cheating has been involved, namely only related to Ultimate content where cheaters used Third Party Tools to roll their way into World First, only to then have both their Weapons AND their Titles revoked due to this along with punishment. They won't reset your Achievement progress over things you've been doing just because you haven't video recorded it, and honestly it's a really dumb way to use Support. Don't file any tickets with them unless it's for one of the reasons stated in the Support Desk - that's what it's there for.
