Ultimate rewards need a slight rework

I've always wanted older Ultimate's to have the weapons from newer jobs retroactively added.

UWU/UCOB: Are missing, GNB, DNC, RPR, SGE, PCT, VPR, and as more jobs get added, it'll be missing more and more. I understand that these jobs aren't going to have Dreadwyrm equivalent weapon models, or ARR/HW Relic models to use as their base, but does that really matter? Use as close a model as would be appropriate, and slap the glow effect on them.

It's a small thing, but I think it incentivises revisiting those fights, even if you've already obtained all of the weapons for them already, and as each new expansion is released, it re-incentivises players to go grab the new ones. Same with TEA, and DSR.

And while on the topic of Ultimate rewards, something I've noticed FFXIV lacks, is glowing armour. It may be nice for us to exchange totems for glowing armour pieces as well as weapons? Perhaps it would look a little bit... Much, if your character is covered from head to toe in a garish set of golden glowing robes, but it would be nice to at least have that option. Again, retroactively adding this to older fights would give players another reason to do them again.

They did give armor effects a try on Endwalker raid gear. The only other times I've seen it is the level 50 gear that does it, and maybe sort of Allagan and Eureka gear.

Aye, the Abyssos/Anabaseios sets. I love those sets, I want more of stuff like that! But aside from that and the Elemental Gear you can get from Eureka, you'd be hard pressed to find many more.

Agree! Ultimates would see some more activity thanks to that as well. I think adding the shiny armor to Criterion would be a great idea, since its rewards are very lacking (Aloalo savage is not as bad, but Sil'dih and Rokkon are just straight up bad...) and I just wanna see more of that type of content. Ultimate difficulty dungeons are so much fun.

It would be nice, while I could understand when they initially released new jobs that they wouldn't typically have gear drops below their starting level, Ultimates at the very least should definitely be the exception to this corner cutting strategy.

They said They will add them, but it just didn't seem like a priority

Ultimates need to have a f...ng solo option first, same goes for all other raids. Yes, this is a single player game and everybody can easily see through the 8-man pseudo difficulty anyway. There's zero real cooperative play in this game it's like a shooter from the 90s in coop mode has more depth.

But I suppose someone good beating all Ultimates on a weekend would dent Yoshis ego too hard.

And I will repeat it just for clarity. Square Enix you need to wake up to the actual reality your game finds itself in. And that is that the huge majority of players don't actually want to interact with each other.

They added new job weapons to Deep Dungeons, so it's strange that old Ultimates haven't. (I *might* look into them since my FC has a swath of newbie players that are curious and I'd have a group to grind with... but still missing some of my fav job's weapons does hurt that motivation.)

    What are you on about...
Everything you said has nothing to do with the point of this thread...

I mean, ultimate is a hell of a grind. Takes weeks or more even if you run UwU a few times per week in a static if all the members aren't on the same page and you're all not career raiders (ask me how I know ). Give the glowing armor, sure why not? I don't see a reason not to. Make it a universal glam like the pvp glams are and allow it to be equippable to any class. Then just make it a single design that best fits the vibe of the ultimate. Example: TEA gear could be a glowing (within reason) form of the Fending gear from Alexander Gordias since it, well, I mean look at it. Looks like alexslamder himself. I like the idea
