    Offline Mode

How would we feel about the developers offering an offline server to this game?
now i do understand that the free trial is somewhat close to that but there are still other players to see and direct messages are disabled.

but with an offline server players could complete various activities without lagging or latency issues and they could complete story without any need of rushing to catch up to anybody and they could even own their own home there with the same ward system but instead of it loading an entire neighborhood it would just be the one big space for the player to customize to their liking similar to island sanctuary.

i am not saying of course this should be a free to play service though i think it should still be tied to a subscription in order to gain access to this offline server
and obviously it wouldnt include any multiplayer aspects such as pvp, raiding, eureka/bozja/occult crescent, ultimates, etc.
and with data center visiting there could be an added option for the offline player to jump into an online server for social activities and multiplayer gameplay etc.

please don't jump into attacks though this is just an idea for fun an possible future feature request i am not asking for them to delete multiplayer or the MMO aspect of the game simply throwing an idea out there.

They'd have to expand the trust system to every single MSQ required 8man story, as well as a 24 Man trust system for Crystal tower.

23 NPCs + 1 player would be insane lol would they program some NPCs to fail mechs to keep things interesting?

Imagine the entire raid fight resetting because you died in a 24-man fight.

They actually could because the benchmark is a proof of concept. But obviously they aren't going to do this.

The idea doesn't sound impossible, I guess.

They have the formula with Dragon Quest X Offline.

The only downside that I see that has shown up with the advent of mobile, if the offline mode gets something nifty or well liked (like they simplify Alliance raids, have trusts that can do all the trails/raids, better cosmetic options) then the people on the online version will want it as well.

They've already redesigned the Crystal Tower raids in the mobile remake to make them 8-man. That is the standard they intend for it going forward for future updates.

Genuinely think it's only a matter of time before FFXIV gets an offline mode, but FFXI has managed to hang in there for way longer than I think most expected it too. It might be a long time.

And that's only if the mobile remake doesn't take over. Being free-to-play is really going to change the dynamic.

You know what is the core problem with the mobile version to me? that it is on mobile, I detest playing games on phones, I did for a long time because I liked the games themselves, but my experience is that even playing them could get physically painful to me, not in a hyperbolic "the experience is so bad" way, but rather because phones tend to heat up when you run games on them, and because they are so small, it's your screen that is going to get really hot, the same screen your fingers are constantly tapping and rubbing against, an hour in and my fingers started to feel like they were bleeding just from the heat, more than that was just not possible for me, and I've played FFXIV for a lot longer than that in one sitting, I couldn't imagine possibly playing this game on mobile as a result, unless I played extremely sparingly.

This would be a different matter if it were to get a global release PC port, as PC ports of mobile gacha games are very common nowdays, but that might not even be possible depending on the deal they have with with SQEX, as that would put them in much more direct competition with the retail version.

Also as a side note, I don't see how changing Alliance Raids to just Raids is a positive, but that's besides the point.

    ---

Just going to say what I've said before in the other thread relating to the mobile game:
    - Square isn't designing or deeply involved in the mobile game. That is Tencent/Lightspeed and they are an entirely separate publisher to Square Enix. Tencent would have bought the rights from SE for the mobile game, so all development and choices made will be by Tencent while they kick back some profits to SE/CBU3 overtime.

    - As I said in my other post regarding my girlfriend who's actually played this mobile game, it is a dumbed down version of FF14. Side quests have been removed, the story isn't in the correct order at points, you don't have to work as hard for anything (the game literally just gives you a chocobo out of nowhere without even having an idea of what grand companies are or doing the mount side quest, for example) and the market board is locked behind a paywall similarly to how we have with the free trial. So, if you have issues supporting gacha/gacha companies I'd prepare to not even be able to sell items to other players.

    - You don't *need* to play the mobile game, especially if the only reason you want to is for cosmetic purposes. You'll be sinking a lot of money into it, more than you would just by playing the PC version as they have weekly rotating limited time cosmetics/hairstyles/mounts and are fully driven by FOMO. You could easily spend $200 a month in blind boxes for different items if you want everything and have awful luck (1 per week) and that's not even counting the individual outfits and mounts they sell alongside that.
