    Launcher shows black screen instead of the login page

    Greetings!

    I am experiencing a problem that makes it impossible to launch the game. When I start the game launcher it opens up with the black screen. The normal login page that would request a login with a password does not show up at all.

    Surprisingly the launcher actually responds. There is an upper bar that lists the game version and has -, X buttons. When I click -, it minimizes the launcher as expected. When I click X, it prompts the exit window.

    I am using a steam version of the client and about 4 days ago the launcher was working without problems.

    I've had frequent launcher issues since the last patch. It'll either freeze when loading, or it'll try to load and the username/password fields never show up. I'd say about 20% of the time it actually loads correctly lately.

    Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
    Were any update or changes made to the PC at the time of the issue?
    Do any issues or crashes occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does it happen in borderless or windowed mode?

    Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.

    Once we have received the requested information, we may look into this issue further.
