Optimization & Changes.

Hello everyone, this is my first post on the community.

Disclaimer: English isn't my first language, so i'll try to explain myself at the best of my capacity.

Just a little context; i've been playing Final fantasy XIV for awhile now, and it has been a wonderful experience alongside many other warriors of light and NPCs. I'm very casual, which means i only play when i feel like it.

• It has come to my attention that lately the severs are not feeling very stable, as for when i was doing an alliance had major lag spike during the run. Of course, my first thought was that my internet was at fault, yet there was more players who experienced the same issue, we discussed it on party and then alliance chat.
  
• However since then, it has continue to happen more than a couple of times, not only in alliance but into other content aswell. I usually play with my friends, but time to time we get this horrendous lag spikes, or the game freezes in place for no reason. We don't get disconected, but when the game resumes everything speeds up and returns to the normal phase. I do not know what's the cause of this. I''ve already checked everything into my system to ensure was working correctly, from something simple like running a speedtest to reinstalling drivers and even resetting to factory state but nothing seems to work.

I'd like to kindly request some support from anyone willing to help or find the root of the problem alongside.

My take regarding FFXIV Mobile.

• I saw something on social media that made my somewhat upset, yes, i'm talking about the FFXIV Mobile. Although, i understand different teams are working on PC and Mobile, as a PC player, i can't help but to feel mistreated and envious.
  
• I do not want to be unreasonable, as i know PC team worked hard to resolve ingame textures and added a new dye system for us, also implemented Quality of Life changes after been requested for a long time such as the chat bubbles.
  
• Currently i'm unsure about what other plans they've for the future to make the game more appealing, but i know for a fact they do listen to it's community, and will try to rectify if anything is wrong, not a high speed phase, but surely they'll get there eventually.

So for the sake of this post, i'd like to open up a discussion about what the community would like to see implemented into the game without breaking its core.

Example: If we want better faces, it shall be for both genders available, not onsided and shall mantain what makes the race unique in comparision to others.

I haven't noticed any lag out of the ordinary. But there can be DDoS that attack specific routes, causing some players to be affected but not others. This is achieved by them not attacking SE directly, but a route that a lot of players connect through.

Another thing that I noticed was, while a VPN allowed me to avoid a DDoS initially, eventually it caused the reverse issue where the VPN specifically was being rate limited by SE in case the VPN was an attacker, so dropping the VPN stopped my lag.

In regards to the mobile version, the fact is they have a completely different development team, and their team is structured better and setup better to where they don't have all these arbitrary self-imposed limitations, development costs, strict development of what they are asked to work on, and other concepts that hinder raw, passionate development of the game.

Welcome to the forums and thank you for posting in English, I know it is a difficult language, so I appreciate your efforts!

I agree with you about the mobile client; it is getting a lot of new and very desirable items and changes. I have a feeling that SE is working with the company that is making the mobile version and trying out new features and methods for the game. I hope that if they are enjoyed on that client, SE will bring those features to the PC / console clients. I definitely want the new hair styles and as much as I would love to have them included in the base game, I understand that we will have to pay for them as the mobile company will own the aset and will want to be compensated for their work.

Hopefully they will bring new features that work in the mobile to 8.0 as long as those features do not diminish the current game.
