So those new subs u mentioned ,are probably 14 players anyway. You're argument that ffxi should just stay as it is bc an influx of new players would somehow bring changes ? I don't get it... Sounds like you're a purist on copium. I say let it thrive, have it fill in a couple more servers ,bc mmos need ppl !
I didn't say it shouldn't change. It is changing and evolving in a great way atm. What I said was it shouldn't change in the direction FFXIV did which it most certainly would if you would combine the 2 audiences since SE is so creatively bankrupt these days that they just default to angsty, lazy or silly anime tropes which a certain sector of the audience loudly goes bananas for. With everything from duties to jobs getting simplified, content being made redundant and the game going from serious or grounded themes to, oh look at the cute bunnies! Levity is a good thing, but in moderation. This game shovels sugar down our throats like most other JP media and it's just boring and tiring at this point. I like the dark or serious themes, broke occasionally by something funny and silly, rather than having the game mostly cutesy comic relief broke occasionally by something serious. If my character ever can take a selfie, while making a peace sign in San d'Oria, like we can in Uldah, I would just toss everything I own from SE into the bin where they are trying to put it anyway.

Change is good. But they need to find balance because drowning in middle school aesthetics and bargin bin manga tropes is not it.
