Thread: Why are you even coping for 8.0 at this point??

its not cope if you still enjoy the game. Despite the sheer volume of toxicity that came into this game with Dawntrail i enjoyed the expansion, even if i wasn't thrilled with the writing. The raids have been a lot of fun, the music has been top tier, and the zones themselves are beautiful.

i can't wait to see where we go for 8.0

I have no problem with jobs.

I just wish mid-core players had a better way of gearing alts. Hardcore players can do it with savage, but us extreme players are stuck with crafted gear or one tome piece a week.

Not per-se, but to act like constructive criticism is all that is happening in these forums is incredibly disingenuous, a good example of outright toxicity is a recent threat where someone was asking for advice on how to approach helping a newbie, and while many where helpful, they also got this response, this isn't criticism, this is being a total ass, this is being so caught on your negative opinion of something that you are going out of your way to try to prevent others from having positive experiences with it. to the point of going against what is being asked, and interactions like that, to variable degrees of severity, are common in these forums, they do not invalidate real criticism or feedback, but they still paint a rather grim image of the demeanor found here.

Honestly, most people have zero idea what constructive criticism even looks like let alone how to give it. It's a learned skill to both examine anything from that angle and to verbalize it. You can still sound like a dick when you do it correctly, too.

So you get people that are so unhappy and unable to get it out of their system that just vomit negativity. I've fallen down that far, too.

Japanese players allegedly just call him a liar now and aren't holding back as much as EN. He is and will be the scapegoat. A lot of people are just fed up with years of ignored feedback. This game managed to lose Covid and Sproutbringer players, and can't communicate major changes like with the "job rework" properly. People get the name, overhype it through fantasies, and then SE releases something else that is received as a disappointment. Constructive criticism will be secondary when the next expansion gets 50% of DT sales - people just quit; they don't sub to post "valid" criticism or opinions.

I'm just waiting to see what the damage is at this point. It took over a year for Yoshi-P to admit the story was bad in Dawntrail because that's how long it took for the marketing and story to run its course before he could say that freely.
It also took way too long for them to admit they left behind casual players when it came to content in this expansion, and focused too heavily on Raiders and raid content (not too surprising considering Ozma is taking a front seat and he seems to only want to make content for raiders and streamers)

But I'm just bracing for impact at this point because instead of acknowledging they left casuals behind and saying they'll do more content for casuals now, their response is to say that they're going to mess with casual content and transform it into "content for everyone". Naturally Ultimate, Savage, Extreme, Unreal, Criterion, Criterion Savage, Chaotic, And Forked Tower/DRS/BA style content will remain untouched and "not for everyone". They plan to take the content serving an already under-served portion of the player base, start messing with it, and instead of giving us more content they're going to give that portion of the playerbase LESS content. Oh, and that content will now be geared towards raiders and streamers with a higher difficulty where they stash all the good titles, rewards, and mounts.

That's what I'm dreading, because I know it's coming. We're going to get a preview in 7.35 with the Savage version of the Deep Dungeon fight, and then that will be every piece of casual content from now on. Will there be time to take any feedback at all from it before 8.0 is in full swing? No.
Will they alter any of the harder modes to be more accessible or add easy modes to them if they're adding hard modes to all the casual content? Also no.

I can see it like a car crash in slow motion. Instead of bolstering the content for casual players they decided to go in a different direction and full on cater to only the raiders and streamers. God bless and I hope it works out for them but to be honest if every good reward and fun piece of content is locked behind a Savage/Ultimate difficulty trial that requires me to install a bunch of plugins and start parsing and using 3rd party tools, I'm just gone for good.
