why does everyone only accept a 5 level gap between it's members? Correct me if I'm wrong, but can you not still get exp up to 10 levels under the highest level in the party?

Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing
You can be 10 levels apart to gain EXP, but people tend to stick 5 levels apart because you'll be doing poor damage compared to the higher levels.
true, but if the party is say...40-45...why not take a 39?
Also, since this is true, why do people try to argue that anything outside of the 5 level gap won't get exp? Are the new players really that dumb? lol

You get full exp for every party member that is up to 10 levels below you or 5 levels above you. You get gimped exp for every party member that is between 5 and 10 levels above you. You get no exp if any party member is more than 10 levels above you.
So for example.
I have a party for four people. One Lv20, one Lv24, and two Lv27s.
The Lv24s and Lv27 will get full exp.
The Lv20 will only get some fraction of their expected exp, because the Lv27s are more than 5 levels above them.
I don't know what they were thinking when they implemented this system.
I haven't tested this in a while, so I may be 100% wrong about this. The exp system has gone through several iterations, but I think this is how it works...? Someone please correct me if this is incorrect.
The level 39 player will get gimped xp. On top of all this, it's a good idea to keep the level spread close so that even the people on the lower end of the party can do decent damage... and god forbid if your TANK is one of the folks on the lower end. They will not be the tank for long.
Also since party members being close causes links, more than 5 levels below (I think! It was 10, but something's changed. Me and a friend were testing this yesterday and it seems to be 5 levels) will not cause a link by being there.
people make up there own stuff and fight facts. Also, since this is true, why do people try to argue that anything outside of the 5 level gap won't get exp? Are the new players really that dumb? lol
While the xp gap is 10 lvl I always found that when the gap was more than 5 the high player xp was very slow.
Well the party will suck if you have a crappy ratio of dudes to chicks. When building a party you should always observe the following ratios:
3 hawt chicks:1 guy
4 normal chicks:1 guy
Remember that the party buff of "booze" can allow the ratio to shift and increase by 1 guy for each category, too.
People probably don't wanna party with you because its a sausage fest.
EDIT: Actually, I remember one of your parties and it was a toootal sausage fest. Me and the bros fake-DC'd and went to Applebee's and hit on the chubby waitstaff.
