Eulmore: Aetheryte

Hello All

Issue:
I can't attune to the aetheryte in Eulmore (needs special permission), however, I have free access to town and all local aethernets attuned.

My question
The Eulmore aetheryte doesn't seem to be necessary: Is there a point to bother unlocking it (else than nice to have)?

It's useful to teleport directly to Eulmore instead of getting there via a local village.

You unlock it by progressing the MSQ. As much as that might be a slight spoiler, it's rather obvious because they don't normally lock aetherytes like that.

As Jeeqbit said, Eulmore's aetheryte unlocks after you pass a certain point in the Main storyline for ShB.

There are incidentally a couple of other examples of non-functioning or locked aetherytes in the game though - as just some examples,

the aetheryte in the Doman Resistance headquarters in Yan'xia in SB is locked for a while until it's repaired, and at least two aetherytes in certain areas of EW (specifically, the main aetheryte for Radz-at-han in Thavnair and the aetheryte in Tertium Station in Garlemald) are also locked until you pass certain points in EW's story,

so there is precedent.

So if you come across an aetheryte that won't let you attune to it yet, usually it's because it's unlocked eventually later on as part of the main storyline, usually due to lore reasons.

Yeah, its a thing they do from time to time. When you first arrived at the Crystarium if you had walked away from the Crystal Exarch and immediately tried to attune to THAT aetheryte it would have not allowed you as well. But that one unlocks by finishing a single quest, so most people dont even have time to realize that its locked before they unlock it. Youll encounter it a few more times when they think its appropriate for the story.
