    Solo duty: Not-so-hidden Temple

    Hello All

And here I am again, because the msq is forcing on me one more solo duty. And of course again one where we have to redo all the steps prior to the last fight if we need to repeat that one... No, I will not say what I think about it, let's better come to my point...

    Issue:
The solo duty goes trouble free up to the last fight against Ran'jit. Then, although we are 5 against 2 (me, the sisters, Y'Shtola and Almet), the duty fails after a short while (even in very easy mode).
Since there are no NPCs entries into the chat and nothing around I can see/notice, I'm lost in space at understanding what is going wrong.

Question: What is happening? Why does the duty fail? I didn't notice anything special around us during the fight (the door isn't active) and there is no chat entries from the NPCs... Huh... Then what?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Did any of the ally NPCs die? I think it was one of those duties where they need to live.

Are you paying attention to the stack marker?

I didn't notice that a NPC died and I haven't seen a stack marker. I will retry today and check those two specific points. Thank you.

    A few tips:

    - Sometimes, whoever is in charge of healing gets obsessed with trying to kill an add and forgets to heal its fellow NPCs. There's also a chance the they're both targeting the squishiest NPC in the group, so if you are able to grab aggro for yourself, it is usually the best to prevent them from dying.
    - You only need to lower Ran'jit's HP to a certain point to trigger his chain move, which lets you move on to the next part of the fight. Don't bother much with the add unless it is targeting an NPC that is low on HP. If you have any mitigations or heals you can spare, it is a good idea to give them to one of the NPCs
    - When the stack marker happens (and in general when performing mechanics), NPCs have a set position they run to. You'll have to adjust to them, because they're often not suuuuper smart. Keep an eye on them and try not to stand on/near them if you can, because if you aim an aoe at them they most likely won't dodge it.

I hope any of this helps and you clear your duty soon! Best of luck!

I got it done! Thank you as usual.

    Root cause for duty failure:
    Almet, the ranger NPC!
When the fight against Ran'jit starts, she goes to him and stands in front of him like a melee, im middle of his AOEs and stays there for the whole fight. This causes her health to decrease rapidly and when she dies, the duty fails.

    Unbelievable!

    My solution:
Luring Ran'jit to me didn't work. He was obsessed with Almet and totally ignored me. So I had to go for something different.
I stopped fighting, moved behind Almet and started to madly cast Physics on her, non stop. It was easy because nobody seemed to care about me. Though, my poor skill is not very powerful and at times it was close to failure again (it seems nobody else than me is healing?). After a while, the duty suddenly progressed and I did hurry out of this nonsense.

Question: Is that intended to work this way or is it a bug?

    Glad you got your clear!

Almet's HP plummeting like that is pretty odd. It might be a combination of running it on "Very Easy", which can sometimes mess with NPCs' stats (some duties are known to be easier on "Easy" difficulty over "Very Easy" because of this), and Almet just not being the smartest bun. Usually, bursting the main enemy would make them turn their aggro on you, so it may also be that you were undergeared or performing your rotation incorrectly, causing Almet to draw more aggro than you.

Either way, enjoy the rest of the MSQ!

I believe she is supposed to be healed and I can see in a video that she is. The reason for this is that the MSQ can't assume you have a heal spell, and therefore must always have an NPC that heals.

I see in most videos that people attack Eulmoran Adjutant, but the duty objective says to "Defeat Ran'jit", so most likely you are meant to be attacking Ran'jit to finish it quicker. Her health decreases rapidly because she is a Bard and they don't have much HP (nor do you as a Summoner) due to being a ranged DPS.

There is a Stack Marker that appears at one point, and you + Almet + Y'shtola need to be inside it or Almet will very likely die.

It's possible that it got bugged due to battle system changes over time - it has happened to Solo Duties occasionally, but most likely if you stood in the Stack Marker, it was probably just bad luck where the NPCs didn't get a heal cast off in time. There is a small way you can reduce the damage to Almet as a Summoner: by using Addle on Ran'jit, which reduces Ran'jit's outgoing damage a bit for 10 seconds. This could be particularly effective on the Stack Marker.

I watched some videos. Some were quite different from my experience, but one was closer to my case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7xNJiCVZ6A

Like for me, in this video, Ran'jit always return to Almet no matter what, and her health is always half bar or even lower. The difference to my case tough, is that she seems to get healing from someone and maintain around half health. When I did it, her health was by far lower until I started to heal her.

Strange... Anyhow, no worries since I don't intend to ever redo that one.

    Again, thank you All
